Hi All,

I recently moved to northwest CT and will fishing a bunch of small lakes and ponds around here. I've been looking into getting something portable and light that I can throw in the back of my truck to hit a lot of these smaller waters - all less then 1,000 acres. While I eventually want to get a jon, I don't have space for a trailer right now.

Curious for thoughts on the Nucanoe Flint. It looks like it would fit my needs great, but I've also seen the Jonny Bass 100 that looks like another solid option. The Gheenoes are big down in FL but not common here in the northeast. While a lot of the waters I'll fish restrict all motors, would like to still have something I can throw a trolling motor or small 2.5 hp outboard for the bigger lakes.

Tired of shore fishing! Appreciate any input. Thanks a lot.

I have a Nucanoe Frontier 10 and I love the quality of the kayak. I chose it over the Flint so I can use it for hunting ducks out on the big river. However, if I was just to use it for fishing I would have gone with the Flint. Can't go wrong with Nucanoe though

I have a Frontier 12 and a Pursuit. I will be getting my son a Flintvas his first yak. The build and customer service are second to none, and the yak itself is a better paddler and almost as flexible as my 12. Its not the only choice, but its a great choice.

Thanks for the input, good to know going with Nucanoe wouldn't be a regret.

Do either of you fish tandem or have fish tandem with the Frontier 12? May consider that if can fish 2 decently. If not, would go with the Flint and a cheap used Jon for fishing with a buddy.

I fish tandem more than solo on the F12, almost at a 5 to 1 ratio. It actually paddles better for me with two people in it.
