I've played around with alot of different lines for deep cranking and when I say deep cranking I'm using a Dobyns 805CB with a Lews BB1 (5:1:1) gear ratio for throwing DD22s,DT 20s, Hot Lips Express 3/4oz, Duo 15a & 20a,6 & 8XDs as well as other other deep divers and I keep going back to 10 or 12lb seaguar Abraz X.

I used to have the opinion that there were only three mono lines you needed:

   1) Big Game

   2) Big Game, and

   3) Big Game.

However .... last year I experimented with Seaguar InvizX, and I like it. I'm not saying it's gonna change the world, but I like it. I especially like it on squarebills, but I intend to use it this year on more and more different lures. I certainly don't like Stren or Trilene XL much. They're OK, but not great. I don't get distance out of XT. I like YoZuri Hybrid for cranks, but I'll experiment with one line at a time.

   Good luck!          jj

I guess I'm the odd man out here.  I use 20 lb braid with a 10 lb mono leader.

15 lb big game for crankbaits over 1/4 oz.  10 lb big game for 1/4 oz.

I sent David Fritts a message and he was kind enough to answer saying 0.011 or 0.012 would be the right diameter.

Last year switched to braid to leader. I use 30lb suffix 832 to a 10=12 lb mono leader mostly trilene xl. I personally like it way more than straight fluoro or mono but i think a more parabolic rod would get me to use fluoro leader.

I started using suffix advance last year replacing Defier Armilo and have really liked it for topwater & cranks & jerkbaits.

After using braid for 30 years and mixing in advance the past 2 years in going all Sufix Advance this year.
