Super User Mobasser Posted April 7, 2020 Super User Posted April 7, 2020 I always thought that the Rebel Ringworm was a really good plastic worm. I used to fish them a lot years ago. The rings displace water on a slow retrieve, and provide less plastic for the hook to penetrate, on a T Rig. I'm down to just a few now. Does anyone recommend a replacement for this one? 1 Quote
BassNJake Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 When I was still tourney fishing, I bought a bunch of baits from the Zipper worm company Still have a few of their various baits and liked them all Not a round worm though https://fishingcompleteinc.com/collections/soft-plastics-1 1 Quote
flatcreek Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 I like the Zoom 4 inch dead ringer which is close to the rebel in action and form. I keep plenty especially around the spawn. 3 Quote

Big Swimbait Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 (edited) My favorite is from Ken at KC Injection Baits - a ring worm with a willow leaf tail that dances! https://kcinjectionbaits.com/store/page9.html Edited April 8, 2020 by 1201vilbig added link 1 Quote
flatcreek Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 I used to throw a 6inc lizard that had a ring worm main body, would you happen to know if they still make em? Quote

I think Grande Bass used to make one but it has been discontinued. It was a great bait for me but I guess not enough to keep it in production. 1 Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted April 9, 2020 Super User Posted April 9, 2020 Ebay is your friend. The Rebel Ringworms can occasionally be found still today. 4 Quote
Armtx77 Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 I just bought a 100 count of "4 black ring worms, with a single curl, white tail from Venom lures. https://www.venomlures.com/ring-worm-venom-lures.html Growing up fishing the muddy Mississippi. We used to wear them out with a worm very similar to the above. T-Rigged under a 1/4 bullet weight and a 3/0 hook. I'm looking forward to throwing them again, in a new AO and pretty positive a lure they have not seen. 2 Quote
Spy Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 I had great success using a 4" version as a chatter bait trailer last year, better than any version of Rage swimmers, craws or grubs did by a long shot! Quote

These are like the ones I have. Mine are a red color. I've got for left. Those grape colored ones on the right look like killer. 1 Quote
Ogandrews Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 If you want some solid ringworms look into bfishin tackle, it’s a company out of the Midwest here that makes a bunch of different walleye soft plastics. They have a huge amount of different colors of ringworms, even though they are technically made for walleye it’s the same thing. Caught a huge amount of walleye on them and a good amount of smallies too, even had some good success with them on a dropshot. They also make a super unique grub for you guys that like to fish grubs, displaces a lot of water and the tail moves with the tiniest amount of movement. 1 Quote
