Sunglasses - Polarized Bifocal Non-Prescription

Recommendations?  I have a generic pair that I like ok.  The bifocals are great.  The polarization is ok.  I always thought that sunglasses are either polarized....or they aren't.  Fact seems to be that some are better at cutting through and seeing down into the water than others.  I'm looking for the better kind.

Even though I wear rx glasses..The best bifocal sunglasses I've tried are the Maui Jim Makaha (sp) polarized high quality lenses. Not cheap, I've had mine for about 8 years.

Costa Del Mar has a few models that have built in bifocal “readers.” Their polarization and lenses are some of the best and made specifically for on the water.  The Green mirror lenses are specifically made for sight fishing and they work great IMO.

Call me cheap, but I go with Cacoons that fit over you Rx. glasses. I have low light up to and including the darkest shade of polarized lenses.

You can order prescription sun glasses from pretty much all the quality manufacturers. You will pay for them though. All polarized lenses are not created equal. All quality sunglasses are not always polarized. Way back in the 80's Vaurnet glasses were a pretty popular brand, none of their models were polarized. Vaurnet is still in business, not sure if that is still true with them. I like Maui's.

I’ve tested the polarization of many types of sunglasses from the cheapest to the most expensive by doing the simple test of looking through 2 pairs with one of them turned 90 degrees. If the polarization was poor, I’d expect a fair amount of light to get through when one pair was rotated. I’ve never found that the cheap glasses let through more light than the most expensive. If someone has another, better way to test polarization, I’d like to hear it. 
I also use Cocoons over my prescription bifocals. They are not expensive and the wrap around frames block the sun from the sides.

I wear trifocal blend and gave up on separate scrip sun glasses a few years ago and went to Cocoons with a sport neck cord.. They do all I need them to do in seeing in the water and if I need them off for knot tying I just flip them down.  I am only dealing with one eye anyway.

I'm dealing with the same issue - trifocal, one eye. I went a different route by getting a set of 4 Punasi flip-up, clip ons.(grey, dk green, dk brown, amber). These worked great last year and I would definitely recommend them as budget-friendly, polarized sunglasses for prescription wearers.

I like flip ups and clip ons for driving. For fishing though, I like some sort of side shields.

Smith's have worked for me.  One of the guys that I fish with uses the Guide Choice Bifocals and loves them.  They are supposed to curved a certain way that prevents glare on the bifocal part.  All I know is I have two pair from them and love them so far.
