I have used many different brands and styles of Hooks for wacky rigging but have yet to really settle on the best hook.
What do any of you think on what is the absolute best wacky rig hook and size?

I like the Falcon K Wacky weedless hooks with the old mousetrap style brush/week guard.  3/0 is the size that I regularly use.

I’ve used about every hook brand out there and agree there are many good options... But I switched to a size 1 VMC Weedless Neko Hook 2 years ago and am very happy with it.  100% hook up ratio and almost always in the roof of the mouth... and they stay buttoned.  Gotta be the slightly longer shank that makes the difference...

I have had some good luck with these.  https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Decoy_Cover_Finesse_HD_Worm_220/descpage-DW220.html

Decoy Cover Finesse HD Worm 220

I also tie my own with mono looped from the eye to the hoop point.  This way I can use any kind of hook and make it weedless.

#1 weedless hook of the brand of your choice. I use Owner and Eagle Claw.

Not a 1/0 but a #1.

I like weedless hooks as I throw wacky plastics and Senkos into trees, brush and wood and the weedless hook helps avoid snags.

I was thinking about trying the wicked wacky hook by gamakatsu looks funny but looks like I can get a good hook set on casting gear?

The appropriate size VMC Neko hook for whichever bait you want to use size 1, 2, 1/0 d sad Gould do well. They have a fantastic hook up ratio.

I love it too just not fishing with weedless wacky hooks. I missed so many bass yesterday. 3/0 Berkley Fusion with the line guard. This was even after I  changed from the brand with the wire guard and still no success.

Regular wacky hooks, hardly miss em. Weedless ones..... forget it?  any tips on hook setting?

Most of the time I use a #1 owner mosquito light, almost always in the roof of the mouth and doesn’t come out as long as your using a light enough rod. If I want a heavier wire hook I’ve had good luck also with a vmc sureset dropshot hook, also a plus is I can find those at any tackle shop in case I run out of owners which are harder to find around here

Just don't fish a weedless one. It's not a heavy cover bait, never understood the need for a weedguard. The hook mostly rides pointed straight up and comes over a lot of sparse cover.

Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap or Berkley Fusion19 Finesse Wide Gap in 2/0 are both great hooks.

The wacky hooks mentioned above for Senkos - I've convinced myself all other stick baits do better with Eco Pro tungsten wacky weights OR a wacky 1/16th oz. Gamakatsu or VMC jig head for wacky rig applications . *Not to thread jack but anyone happy with the wacky rigged action of non - Yamamoto Senkos just using a wacky hook ?

I rarely use a weight and have almost no Yama senkos. I prefer the Ocho over the senko but have quite a few different sticks that work fine on a plain wacky hook.

I've tried several types of stick baits, including Senkos.  I never noticed one working better than others.  When the fish are biting they hit whatever you throw, IMO.  With that said I use Yum Dingers and have great success with them.

Gamakatsu 1/0 B10 S Stinger Finesse Hook. The straight shank gets me better hookups than the traditional ones. I don’t think a weedless model of this hook exists though so that’s one drawback.

the straight shank means it can also double as a neko hook, though I find the 1/0 a little big for worms that have thinner bodies. I’d go 1/0 for wacky rigging and size 1 for neko rigging.

Haven't used them yet, but I got a 25 pack of gamakatsu 1/0 b10s stinger hooks based on an older thread here.

Why do you prefer the Ocho? Cost? More success with it?

I'm usually strictly a Senko guy when it comes to Wacky Rig. But I bought a few bags of Ochos to try out this year.

Yep, more success and price. Sinks and wobbles great and it's half the price. Also great on a weightless T-rig. I find them at Academy for $2 a bag all the time.

I use the hooks that come with the Lake Fork weight system http://www.lftlures.com/catalog/wacky-hook-weight-system until they dull, then I slide the collars over 1/0 Trokars WG wacky hooks.  I used to use the Trokars with a small piece of shrink wrap hit with a lighter, but the Lake Fork system is so much easier to rig and works as well as far as I can tell, that I only use that system now.

Yamamoto Senko  , SK Ocho , Yum Dingers and BPS Stik-O because I have these already .

Pretty much a 3/0 Owner SSW hooks or the Gamakatsu Octopus hooks, 4/0 if it’s a 7” GYCB and tied with a snell knot.
