Super User MN Fisher Posted April 4, 2020 Super User Posted April 4, 2020 Still got some mods left to do on the canoe. Rigs and tackle are ready to go. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 4, 2020 Super User Posted April 4, 2020 Had some sun & warmer air temps today so I washed, clayed, polished & wax the Pro-V Bass. Came out really nice. Now if we could just get a little open water . . . A-Jay 1 Quote

Super User Sam Posted April 4, 2020 Super User Posted April 4, 2020 I organized my tackle three times so far. I rigged 11 rods and reels with different presentations to use, hopefully this Tuesday at my double secret pond. Will put together my tackle to go to the double secret pond. I sent emails to Gamma about a question I have regarding their lines. I am waiting for a link to order some nice spinnerbaits with special skirts for local Virginia waters. Cleaned up almost all of the garage. Still have one section to go. Reorganized my MegaStrike and KVD Line and Lure Conditioner spray in my man cave. Will clean out shed tomorrow (Saturday). Will mow field with riding mower Saturday or Sunday. Will drive to Seven Springs Marina on Lake Chesdin on Saturday to confirm they are open and to see if the place is a zoo. Reading Bass Times and Bassmaster magazines. Took all of my swimming and workout stuff out of my SUV and will store it in the attic until pool reopens. Making angle food cakes. Fried oysters for my oyster loaf this past week. Will probably fry some shrimp for a shrimp loaf this weekend. (It's a Louisiana thing) Will watch LSU and Clepsom in the football championship game on the SEC network when it airs and hope the Fighting Tigers will win it again. Also will watch LSU and Georgia in the SEC championship game when it airs. Will be invoicing clients and emailing the invoices to them this weekend. And not shaving; wearing my favorite sweats all day and night; and aggravating my wife for the fun of it. ? And you say what you are doing......... 1 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted April 4, 2020 Global Moderator Posted April 4, 2020 Living in a motor home Mrs Mike and I are getting to know each other all over again. Even after almost 50 yrs together. She watches me all day and makes sure I don’t do anything stupid while I’m still healing from back surgery. I walk 20yds or so every hour with the walker then put it away and walk a little on my own. That’s it. All She does is try to stay in touch with the kids all day long. It wouldn’t be too bad if I didn’t keep getting the call of The Lake every 10 min. ? You all stay well Mike 2 Quote
Wildbillb Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Reading stuff on here. Watching fishing videos. Organizing all my tackle. I think it multiplied over the winter. I need to respool my reels. Searching for a boat. Thinking about cleaning up my old flat bottom river boat. I need to find a little 5 hp short shaft for it. Quote
Super User Bird Posted April 4, 2020 Super User Posted April 4, 2020 Let's see....um. Oh, did re-tie all fishing lines last evening. Ordered a manual inflatable life vest " Onyx" which this very forum prompted me to do so. Breaking out the pressure washer later today. Put frontline on the dog. Think I drank a whole bottle of Cabernet last night while star gazing around the firepit. Had friends stop by while the wife and I were playing Uno.....she ran them off aggressively, wow. We live in a remote location 1/2 mile off state maintained road, she wants NO visitors. Lol Wife and I are doing a lot of hiking in the GWNF behind the house. She's packing sandwiches now. Loaded boat for Monday's fishing adventure, throwing Magnum flukes and 10" worms. Have a great day. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted April 5, 2020 Super User Posted April 5, 2020 Buying more stuff I don't need on eBay...... I was totally organized till I spent about 12 useless hours on a lake today. There was about 150-200 boat trailers in the parking lot. Thank goodness it was huge lake..... Time reorganize again. And I am still working and having to go into work but somehow I still feel confined which is probably a bad sign. Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted April 5, 2020 Super User Posted April 5, 2020 Lube reels. Replace line. Quote
Nelson Delaney Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Put on the waders & chased trout all day Quote
basser27 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Buying tackle and fishing at least four days a week Quote
Super User Mobasser Posted April 5, 2020 Super User Posted April 5, 2020 I have fished a little. Didn't do real good, cold fronts making the fishing slow. Still working 3 days per week. Today, fixed a couple of shingles that blew off the roof. In between, watching Netflix. A good movie called Hostiles, and re runs of The Rifleman. Quote
GTN-NY Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Working on my gardens. Everything is rigged and ready. Been out fishing twice. Got a 30” pike on a flyrod?. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted April 5, 2020 Super User Posted April 5, 2020 Teaching my kids tying flies jumping on trampoline with aforementioned kids fishing yard work organizing gear whatever else tickles my fancy really..... 1 Quote
VolFan Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 I think im doing everything Flyfisher does except tying flies. Jumping on the trampoline with my 9 yr old and the neighbors is wearing my back out. Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted April 5, 2020 Super User Posted April 5, 2020 Lots and lots of practice casting. I taught my seven year old grand son Ian to cast with a bait caster. He absolutely amazed me. I set the cast control on safe and he was casting a 1/2 jig on a seven foot rod over 40 feet with ZERO back lashes. I wish I could post the video. He was that good. Better than catching a fish right now. 2 Quote
Tizi Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 I have been setting up the Smokercraft with pole holders and lights for night fishing. I’ve added a 5 inch Humminbird sonar, pole and net holders, and a few other items to the Old Town Topwater. I have organized a few technique specific boxes: glide baits, frogs, and my largest deep diving crankbaits. My wife and I have been getting a lot done around the house: inside and out. We have had a good time being stuck together so to speak. We are trying to take this all in stride and do our part. I wish I could fish though, but the state has shut that down. Makes no sense we can’t fish. Quote
mrpao Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 All of our public boat ramps and public water access areas are closed. That means no fishing unless you know someone on the lake with a ramp or property on long the water Quote
ike8120 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Got all my tackle organized. Re spooled some reels. Quote
The Bassman Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 I'm walking HOA lakes like I normally do. Caught a bunch yesterday. The nice thing about it is that most of the residents don't fish and are just out walking, biking, etc. Quote
DanielG Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 I got up... I made coffee... I checked my mail... I watched CNN while on the treadmill... Yes the world will end soon.... I watched Cuomo..... Pretty cool guy. He should be in charge of this thing. Lunch... Supper.... Bed.... ----------------------------? Actually, I do a lot of that plus.... Put new pole holders on my boat that arrived from Amazon. The wife and I launched it the other day for the season. I would have waited but a stay at home order was taking effect the next day. Water was 39 degrees and it was windy. Slow 40 min ride back to the house on the water. We dressed like winter but it was still cold. Maine: No fishing license required this spring, No boat registration either. And no lakes closed. I painted a lure I had made last week. Trout pattern. I cast a few lures for the first time. They were made this winter and had never been wet. It might hit 56 degrees tomorrow. I might take the boat out and see what I can get. And so on and so on.... 1 Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted April 5, 2020 Super User Posted April 5, 2020 Working full time. Two weeks ago Saturday (yesterday) I fell getting back up on the boat ramp from the bank. Twisted the everlovin' out of my left ankle. One thing I haven't been doing is getting back down to the boat ramp to try out any more of the 6 new and new-2-me rods I bought over the winter. Ankle still tender. Balance has gotten horrible if I am not on a flat surface. Read here and a couple other fishing forums. Trying to figure out what reels to put on those new rods. Actually would like to review all my rods and reels to see if I want to make some changes. Anyone near me want to come over and brainstorm? Weighed a few rods and lures. Knew spinnerbaits weighed more than their listing, but was surprised by how much over some are. A half oz. War Eagle weighed .82 oz. Making a trip to the grocery store almost every day because my wife isn't driving right now....and maybe never again. Discovered in January that she has Alzheimer's. Seeing doctors (for me, not wife). MRI, Echo Stress test, Cardiologist, Vascular Surgeon, Orthopedic Surgeon, family doctor, physical therapy. No wonder my honey-dos aren't getting done. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted April 5, 2020 Super User Posted April 5, 2020 Still working full time. On the weekends I'm fishing from the bank, reorganizing tackle, working in the yard, chasing moles, and various other household stuff. Quote
schplurg Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Going to work still and fishing when I can. Only thing that's changed is that I'm stuck at my local "fisheries" which are not productive, and I'm worried about the parents. Main stress has been keeping my parents safe and from doing things they shouldn't. They've been good and careful for the most part. Everybody and their mother (literally mothers, entire families) are at the lakes and it's busier than I've ever seen. To all you guys who want to make fishing more popular and get kids all over the world into fishing, be careful what you wish for. Quote
