I’m watching Sec games ( mostly football) on the sec channel. You know it’s bad as a Gator fan when you watch 2 Sec west teams play each other. I’m usually only good for less than a quarter.

Im missing Gator baseball . They were 16-1 before this thing came.
I watch the Paul Finebaum show sometimes too.

No Atlanta braves either ?

Not much of a fan of pro sports but I sure do miss watching my grandchildren play. One granddaughter just made the JV softball team at school, had a couple of scrimmage games and everything closed. She also plays on a travel team. Couple of grandsons play travel baseball. They are kind of lost without ball!!

Last ball game I watched live was the final game of the Minnesota Strikers.

Now-days I just watch World Cup. Futsal is this year, later, but qualification rounds are on hold. Main Cup isn't until 2022...so there's hope.

For several years I kept a camper on a Mississippi river  bay protected by a levee . My dad was in   deteriorating   health  .The place I had the camper was easily accessible and level , which was important because Dad could not walk very well .  Mom and Dad would come  out and we would listen to the St Louis Cardinals and tight line for carp and catfish . Dad passed away last year so I sold the camper . He is the main reason I bought it as  he loved to fish and he loved ball.  He was a fast pitch pitcher and pretty darn good at it . Right now I'm really missing sitting out there catching fish and listening to baseball with Dad .

Heres a photo of him , me and my twin brothers . Looks like we are on our way to the ball park .

If you want to watch football when in season it's all over the screen. If you want to watch baseball it's only for the people paying to watch it. Can't watch baseball and the home teams particularly are blacked out. So, to heck with them. I'm always missing BB games anyway. Too bad though.

I went fishing during this years Super Bowl and my home team was in it. I tried to watch, but as soon as I saw the irritatingly long National Anthem begin I said, "Oh screw this" and grabbed my gear. I'd never survive the half-time show.

Super Bowl is the worst offender. Jay-Lo and Shakira? Hey I could see true football fans wanting to see them together onstage - but not singing!

I don't miss pro sports at all.

My local sports network is rerunning Red Sox & Bruins games ... I have four tickets to the Sox in May.  Hopefully they'll play, or I'll get a refund.

The other day I read that teams are not giving refunds. They are treating the games as rain outs and offering exchanges for future games.

Everyone has a different personal situation or family dynamic relating to sports. I was sitting with my daughter watching TV when she mentioned how the weather was really nice and she missed going to a ballgame due to the pandemic. My family unit has been going to ballgames since the kids were in kindergarten, which provided an opportunity for us to talk about anything and everything, including the game we were attending.  I like the rest of my family look forward to again be able to attend a baseball game and return to some form of normalcy.

Be well everyone

Still holding onto hope I'll get to take my boys to a Royal's game this year. I loved going the few times I got to go with my dad when I was a kid. Now I get to do the same for them.

With all of the baseball fields, parks, and the baseball academy where my son works out closed we've had to improvise. As it so happens, are driveway is on an angle and makes a pretty good pitching mound. Next step is to build a plyo box for jump / leg strength.

I need to get him on a radar gun. He's really bringing it now.

Thanks. Matt works hard at his game. We were tweaking his kick out and stride the other day when I took this video and his ability to make those changes paid off.

In the second photo he gets the ball too far behind his head for my liking. First, that torques the elbow too much. Second, he's showing the batter the ball a bit more instead of hiding it.

But the big thing is that he gets his glove hand a few inches too high and gets his throwing hand coming up a little too soon. If he can fix the timing issue with his throwing hand he'll get better hip-shoulder separation and that should add some additional velocity to his fastball.

He's a 14 year old 8th grader and has touched 80 mph a few times with his fastball. He's already 6 feet tall and still growing. Once he fills out a bit, if he works at it and has the desire he might be able to go places in this game. He already has 2 MLB scouts and a college recruiter that somehow found his live streaming hitting workouts on Instagram and they all started following his account and chimed in with some advice.

I'm really proud of the work ethic he has on the field. But since he became a teenager I wish he'd put that same work ethic into his homework!

@Koz, good looking RHP ya got there! I wouldn’t want to stand in the box against him. Effort into homework?? Good luck with that.......Haha. The best thing about graduating college and joining the workforce? No more homework!

Thanks. I don't know what it is with him and homework lately. He went from mostly A's to terrible grades to mediocre grades simply because he does not turn in some homework or projects. As a parent it's frustrating. But they are his grades and not mine. He gets guidance and support, but ultimately it's his choice.

I did get him to start reading info on the Keep Playing Baseball website and that started to change his mindset (but it's tough again with e-Learning at home due to Covid-19). For parents of any potential college baseball player the KPB website is a great resource.

As for stepping into the box against my son, I don't do that any more. I don't even catch him off the mound anymore. I don't trust my old eyes and fading reflexes. Plus, because he throws hard and has movement I have to focus on the ball and can't focus on his mechanics. It's much easier to have him throw into a net and take super slo mo video of him to break down what he's doing.
