kjfishman Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 I received a Lowrance HOOK2-5X with SplitShot as a gift and installed on my Old Town Loon 126 kayak with the transducer reading through the hull. The only problem is the HDI screen never shows the bottom. Lowrance said that HDI deosnt work shooting through the hull. Anyone had any success reading HDI through the hull? Quote

It's just above the bottom of the kayak so it reads fine and is safe from 99% of what's out there. Quote

If this isn't going to shoot thru the hull I can put it on my trolling motor on my bass boat. Quote

Consider a second mounting kit with and transfer the head between your boat and kayak. I have a second kit and trolling motor so I have a fish finder when I rent boats at the Quabbin Reservoir out here. 1 Quote
