I don’t frog, but I do throw lures without a leader. But I don’t tie braid directly to hooks ??

A lot of people do though, that's why he asked the question.

I say no knot.

Why in the world are we tying braid directly to a hook?

do you use leader for super murkie water? or punching heavy covers?

I dont get to punch, because there’s no heavy cover for me. But I still use a leader with a hook in murky water.

Use any know you want as long as you put your line through the eye of the bait twice. Once you put it through the first time just go back and go through again the same way it went in the first time. Once I started doing this I’ve never had a knot slip with braid. Generally use the palomar, but I will use the uni also especially if I’m fishing 80-100lbs braid.

When I first started fishing I did a lot of research on knots because their are many of them. There are tried and true knots, re-named knots, new knots, and knots that won contests. Most research I did agrees that the Palomar knot has the highest break strength. I cannot remember why but it is technically not considered a knot. A Palomar knot, if tied correctly cannot come undone. (I said undone not break), this cannot be said of other knots.

I love the Palomar also and use it as much as possible but I am not using a Palomar knot on a spinner bait, that's ridiculous, I will use a Uni. I find the Palomar illogical for certain baits.
