Will1248 Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 With most soft baits I notice that the main colors white, green pumpkin and black cover most to every situation. Ive fished shakey heads most of my life but now I'm branching out to drop shot more with the weather warming up, and finally able to buy a specialized rod/reel with my first pay raise. With dropshot I seem to always have luck on more translucent colors like smoke and watermelon seed. But I really havent fished the technique enough to know for certain. What are your top producing colors for clear, murky, and stained water? Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted March 28, 2020 Super User Posted March 28, 2020 I normally use a 4" roboworm for ds'n...and my goto is Morning Dawn, next would be M.M. This is for stained and clear water. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 28, 2020 Global Moderator Posted March 28, 2020 I'm boring, plain old green pumpkin runs away from every other color I've tried. I've done fairly well with morning dawn, oxblood/red, and green weenie too. 1 Quote
walleyecrazy Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 My main two drop shot baits are the roboworm and the dream shot OPT, and my top producing color is very similar in both. Top producer in the roboworm is Aaron’s magic, and top producer in the dream shot OPT is magic. I will fish other colors like green pumpkin and morning dawn, but those magic colors are far and away my top producers. Quote
SWVABass Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 Roboworms- bold bluegill or hologram shad yamamoto- perch or real shad (bait is shad shaped worm) berkley - I just use the gulp minnow black back silver sides if those three baits wouldn’t produce I put my ds away. These baits are always fished when visibility was 1’ or greater. 1 Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted March 28, 2020 Super User Posted March 28, 2020 Roboworm Alive Shad in Baby Blue or the Roboworm Straight Tail in Aaron's Morning Dawn, Aaron's Pro Shad or one of the MM variants (I usually like the bright colors), but sometimes I'll stick to more traditional colors if those aren't working. Super User Bird Posted March 28, 2020 Super User Posted March 28, 2020 Robo 4" ST in Aaron's magic and morning Dawn. Quote
