ABart61 Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 I’ve caught some studs using Siebert Outdoors 3/8 swim jigs. Favorite trailer is a 4.3 Keitech in Pro Staff Special in Bluegill situations. Pro Blue Red Pearl in Shad situations 2 Quote

Super User Cgolf Posted March 30, 2020 Super User Posted March 30, 2020 So far my favorite has been the Santone swim jig. The flat bottom allows it to be a bit more versatile, especially since most of the bass I encounter are bottom huggers. I have had good luck with Outkast heads too. My favorite setup so far has been throwing 3/32 and 1/4 oz swim jigs on the same spinning setup I toss my slider rigged plastics and jerkbaits on. The best trailer for me has either been a kalins 5" grub, Yum wooly bully rigged sideways, smash tech smash shad, and yum pulse Jr. Quote
Fishin Dad Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 Hey Chief, I see you have tried these Queen tackle blades. How did they work out for you? I was thinking about grabbing a couple to try. Thanks, FD Quote
Bandersnatch Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 I tried them on two different swim jigs and they did nothing. Maybe I didn't know what I was doing but it was immediately apparent they weren't going to turn my favorite swim jig into a jackhammer. Again, maybe I did something wrong but I gave up. Quote
Fishin Dad Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 Thanks! I was assuming that might be the case. Good fishing to ya! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 16, 2020 Super User Posted August 16, 2020 Had one of my best days ever yesterday... 1/2 oz Siebert Swim Jig EWG, Black Trailer: Rage Tail Magnum Structure Bug, Black & Blue 1 Quote
ajschn06 Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 Everyone is using Keitechs for their swim trailers!! Why do I feel like I get no action on them!? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 16, 2020 Super User Posted August 16, 2020 Give the Rage Tail Swimmer a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Quote
JFlynn97 Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 Any tips on how to fish a swim jig? So far I think I've only caught a couple pickerel on swim jigs but I want to get more experience with em. I recently picked up some Dirty Jigs swim jigs (in Dirty 420) and a pack of green pumpkin rage menace grubs and some Exoswims as well, think these well work to get me going? Quote

Try the new Yamamoto Kicking Zako....that thing in it's short time in my rotation has been FANTASTIC on a swim jig. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 Mike Seibert, one of our sponsors on here offers some great swim jigs made to order and customized as you wish. I just got his four jig variety swim jig pac with special skirts and wire wrapped. 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted August 16, 2020 Super User Posted August 16, 2020 I swim the same jigs that I use on the bottom. The big difference is in the trailers. Sometimes I’ll use a paddle tail, sometimes a craw, and sometimes I just use a plastic worm. Quote

Herbert Lorenzo Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 Try turning Keitech trailer upside down . Gets more action . Quote
Dens228 Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 Hey!! When did you look in my jig box?? Same here. I use the Impact Fat because I think the regular has TOO much action.. the beauty of so many choices! Quote
ajschn06 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Just got done watching a Tactical Bassin video where Matt said the Keitech’s are bad swim jig trailers... that makes me feel better- just getting into his videos and blown away how much great info he gives... Quote
Super User RoLo Posted August 17, 2020 Super User Posted August 17, 2020 You're not alone in your love for swim jigs, especially when you throw pike in the mix > Dirty Jigs Swim Jig > Revenge Swim Jig > All-Terrain Grassmaster > Outkast RTX Flipping Jig Roger Quote
jtharris3 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 I primarily throw the Greenfish Tackle Swim Jig or the Hack Attack Heavy Cover swim jig. I mostly fish shallow water so 1/4oz. and 3/8oz. are all I throw. I keep the colors pretty basic, Green pumpkin, Black Blue, White and Blue Gill. Trailers are mainly a Rage Menage or a Rage Craw, sometimes a Zoom Fat Albert curly tail grub. I fish them on a 7' MH Carbonlite 2.0 rod with a Shimano SLX DC 6.3:1 or a Carbonlite 2.0 6.8:1 reel with either 30lb. braid of 15lb. floro. Quote
Chonch12 Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 I just won 6 1/2oz Dirty Jig Swim Jigs so I am excited to read through this thread! Quote
