OCdockskipper Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 I'd wager it is a Spot based on the head size, football shape and distinctive coloring. There is something about the overall look of spotted bass that they just look different than largemouth. Like twins that you can tell apart. 1 Quote
Mbirdsley Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 I bought some smoke clear plastic this winter. I think grubs and 3 inch tubes. Only place I will use them is up north in deep ultra gin clear lakes IE big crystal, big platte, little platte and a host of others. These lakes you can literally see 20-25 ft down in some spots. Last June I had to run a 12 ft flouro leader before I even started to have success on plastics. Quote
padon Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 smoke grubs and tubes can be dynamite in clear water.smoke purple is probably my number1 tube color.but I don't want the ones that are too dark.i want them nice and translucent with the purple flake in them. 1 Quote
Wildbillb Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 I used to used Yamamoto Hula's in smoke with red, green and orange flake. I'm about out and last I looked they don't make it anymore. If I could find them I'd buy a bunch Quote

It’s a killer color and can’t wait to try it. Quote
