reddragon Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 Would you pick one over the other? And what is the reasoning behind it? I have both of these and am not sure if I want to keep them both or get rid of one. They both are great rods, but can be used for pretty much the same applications. I love the action on the MBR since I started my high end fishing with OG Mag Bass rods, however once I moved to the NRX JWR rods I got to really to love how the road loads up. I'm just not sure I need both of these rods. Anyone in my situation? What are you using the rods for? Quote
Efishin Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 What application are you using it for? That makes the bigggest differences Quote

That makes the bigggest differences I use the rods basically for what they were designed to be used for bottom contact, pitching, etc. However, when I first started fishing I was limited to only having two rods at most, so I found ways to make rods work with different applications even if they weren't specifically designed or meant to be used that way. I can probably find different uses for both, but I'm on the fence if I really want to. I have rods to cover other applications already. I guess I just am uncertain if I should keep both. Quote
Stephen B Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 Although both are 4 powers, they are different rods as the NRX is a JWR and the Conquest is a MBR so they have a much different taper thus they have advantages but in different areas. Sensitivity advantages goes to the NRX in my hands. Balance on those specific models goes to the Conquest. Versatility advantage goes the Conquest as it's very capable of throwing a wide variety of baits. For strictly bottom contact, I prefer the NRX. It really comes does to personal preference on feel as we all vary as well as the baits you intend to throw. 1 1 Quote

I totally understand where you're coming from, I used to use my OG MBR GLXs for everything haha. I still have them till this day, however they don't get fished anymore. I feel like I just need to take both of them out and do a side by side and see what I like because I honestly like how both of the rods load up, even though different. 2 hours ago, NHBull said: Love both but put more fish in the boat with the MBR......I alway feel like I am going to break a NRX? I felt like this all the time using my 853c NRX, that rod is so light, but it never broke when I swung for the fences. Quote
