Jim Sutter Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 How good are the above mentioned jerk baits? If you use them, what are your preferred colors? Quote
Russ E Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 The rick clunn jerkbaits aren't bad. The suspending model I have.does not suspend without adding significant weight. In my opinion the Academy H2O ultimate jerkshad is a much better bait. It is roughly the same price. My largest bass of 2020 is 7 pounds 6 ounces. it was caught with the ultimate jerkshad. Quote
Jim Sutter Posted March 25, 2020 Author Posted March 25, 2020 Russ E, Thank you, for your reply. For the time being, I will put these lures on the back burner. 1 Quote
camman Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 They have worked great for me, though you need to upgrade the hardware on them. Quote
Jim Sutter Posted March 26, 2020 Author Posted March 26, 2020 camman, Thank you for your reply. A person shouldn't have to up grade the hardware on a brand new lure. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 26, 2020 Global Moderator Posted March 26, 2020 The new ones are junk. The older ones were much better. Much better baits for similar or even less than what they cost. Quote

You are right...though you will be surprised at how many guys change out stock hooks from a wide range of manufacturers Quote
Jim Sutter Posted March 26, 2020 Author Posted March 26, 2020 Bluebasser86, I was thinking about purchasing a few of their jerkbaits, however after reading your comments I'll pass. Thanks for the heads up. Take care and stay safe. 1 Quote
