I'd say I caught 250-300 last year, but many were from farm ponds where the difficulty was not very high. In my life I would say around 1000, but that is just a rough estimate.

I am going to make an excel spreadsheet to track my catches this year, am interested in seeing how it turns out.

What about you guys?

Holy cow, just thinking about those stats and history makes my head hurts.  I really wish I had kept a fishing log for the past 25+ years.  I can't even begin to comprehend those numbers.  A lot, just a lot but I'm always looking for more!

Last year, it was probably a dozen - of which 3 weren't dinks.

Total lifetime? No idea as I've never really kept track before and we're talking over 40 years of fishing here.

Impossible for me to say. I lost track of actual numbers probably 20 some years ago

I logged my 100th DD bass in 1973 and stopped counting. I decided to raise my personal bar to 15 lbs and caught 58 to date, more then likely the same bass several times. No way to even estimate the total number of bass caught over 70 years of fishing.

I caught 0 bass since 4/5/2019.

In only 50 yrs of bass fishing, I have No idea on how many I've caught. I don't keep track of numbers, not even for this year..

Thats a difficult question to estimate . Some years I have caught a thousand or two or three other years in the hundreds . I'll estimate a thousand a year for 42 years .  I'd say 40,000 is close .

For a few years....many years ago.....I kept a log with all the pertinent information but I was spending more time tending to the log than fishing.

I would like to do it again to have the info for reference but it does take times and sometimes you get into fish you do not have time to do anything besides catch fish which is why I'm out there in the first place.

Nice ~

As the decades on the water started to pile up, sheer numbers began to mean a bit less to me.

More recently, it's all about the numbers of days on the water & 'Score-able Bass" that I cherish and remember most.

Hope you have fun collecting the data for that spreadsheet.

To me it does not matter.

I love being on the water; seeing the Ospreys, hawks, eagles, ducks and geese.

Seeing the beautiful shoreline, especially in the fall when the leaves change color to create a beautiful pallet of fall colors.

Fishing with a buddy and enjoying his company.

Loving the peacefulness of being on the water and seeing all of Mother Nature's wonders.

And yes, if I catch a few bass, catfish, bowfin or snakeheads that is OK, too.

Since I got back into fishing I would say each year I catch between 150 and 250 fish with a majority of them being bass.  Impossible to say for a lifetime.

Last summer, approx June to October about 60

How many I catch depends on how many hours per year I fish, which can vary a lot.

Rather than raw numbers, I think it's more interesting to keep track of the following, both overall and per body of water:

-Average length or weight.

-greatest (pb) length or weight.

-Total number of bass caught per hour.

-Number of keeper-sized bass per hour.

-bag size (weight of largest 5) per trip over 3 hours.

-ratio of bass to other species caught

I don’t even remember how many of fish I caught in one trip (if I caught more than a few). But I do remember for sure how many skunked I got.

Caught 1327 last year( Largemouth & Spots). I photograph every bass 8 inches or 8 pounds. I'm lucky enough to get to fish year round and have a pond that I see every day as I run my dogs. The number is substantially higher if Hybrids & Stripers are included.

Lifetime = Bunch

The only number I’m concerned with when fishing for any species is zero (0) at the end of the day my friends. Even on those slow, cold, why am I out here days when if I put a keeper in the boat I knew I wouldn’t go hungry if it came down to it.

My numbers are way down compared to most guys on here but I’m guessing I don’t get out as much as many of you do. I’d say in avg I catch around 100 a year.  There’s days when I can go out to my local fisheries and catch between 20-25 in a matter of an hour. Those are mostly small farm ponds or smaller county lakes. Most of those fish don’t crack 2 lbs either. But most days I’m lucky to catch 2-3 but those are also better sized.  I usually get out between 12-20 times a year.  I’d say in my lifetime I’ve caught 1,300 fish or so

I’ve only been into Bass fishing for about 3 years, and I just started fishing lakes, not ponds, about a year and a half ago. At that time I also got a boat and started going out at least a few times a month. Just after scrolling through my calendar(I went out on the lake maybe about 25-30times) I estimate that I have probably caught a little over 100 fish in the past year. I hope that number increases by a lot this year.

Good question though!
