Glenn, we have had some wonderful guys as mods on the Forum over the years and these guys have seemed to quit posting and moderating.

Can you bring us up to date on the guys who were once mods and what they are doing, etc.?

It would be interesting to find out about them.

Thanks for considering this request.

Stay home and be safe.

Glenn would be the one to reply to this, but I know he is busier than long-tailed cat in room full of rocking chairs, so I’ll give it a go.

Chris: a very knowledgeable fisherman, known for his long, late night posts on a variety of  bass fishing topics. Some of his posts were long enough, and were written well enough to be major magazine articles. I for one miss that. If memory serves, he got very busy with crankbait production, and bowed out.

5basslimit, or maybe it was fivebasslimit. A tournament angler from Virginia, I think. Maybe Georgia. Not sure. A nice dude, kind of quiet in person, but always on point with good advice. Not sure why he left.

low budget hooker: a very unique character from Rhode Island. Very sharp, very witty, friendly as all get out. The kind of guy you wouldn't mind sharing a bottle of tequila with. He got into farming, got busy and left.

flukemaster: i will let Glenn talk about him.

Long Mike: from Tulsa, now resides in Pensacola. One of my very best friends, and a long time fishing partner. He left when his wife got sick and needed his full time care. Mike was the entire Bass Resource grammar police department. You needed to dot your tees and cross your eyes when Mike was on duty. He, I and roadwarrior get together several times each year.

00mod: from the Memphis area. Family owns a couple of liquor stores. Good fisherman, and all around good guy. Met him at a couple of Roadtrips, but never got to know him well. Don't know why he left.

hope I haven't forgotten anybody.

Thanks .ghoti.

Please say hello to Long Mike for me and tell him I miss his wit and great insight into bass fishing.

Sincerely appreciate the feedback. I think other oldies on this site would like to read what the old mods are up to these days and you nailed it very well. Or is it very good. Or nicely. Or hit it out of the park. Better ask Long Mike! ?

This was actually really cool to read, I haven’t been around long enough to know these guys but it’s cool reading up on them.

I have been browsing bass resource for a long time.  I also look at a few other boards and on some of those boards they have stories- I have never cared to look too much into it and feel there is two sides to every story.

I have read about certain company fan boys from 13 fishing flooding certain boards and reviews to skew the feeling people have of their productsvand that was a heavily contested point at one time here...I guess now that they are pretty established on the market this practice has subsided?

All I do know is that the information here is on-point and the community seems to be a decent group.  But I try and look on the bright side anyway.

I think fivebasslimit was from TX. And, at risk of spreading a heavy rumor, I believe he passed away. Was a bit of a shocker. Enjoyed his willingness to engage.

When his farming business flourished, LBH quit his job at UPS and moved to Florida.  He frequently posts pics of him lounging on the beach while holding a nice cool drink.  LOL

OOmod burned out on being a mod, so he gracefully exited. No hard feelings.  We miss him here.

I haven't heard anything about Scott (5basslimit). He has not returned any of my messages in a long time. But he's from Virginia, not TX, and is very much alive.

Paul, is it possible you are referring to fishfordollars (Jack)?  Jack was from Texas and a great contributing member, but I don't think he was a mod.  I could be wrong though.

Oh! I left out Alpster!  He was a mod years ago. He still visits and posts here on occasion.  I saw on Facebook he recently shaved off his beard - first time since 1980!

Ugh! Yes! Thanks, Ed. I was spreading a heavy, and erroneous, rumor. Apologies.

I wish he would come back. Some posts are almost incoherent.

He was not a mod but was a heck of a guy. Think he passed away in 2009?

LBH and Scott are always on FB and doing well.
