Hybrid stripers are "functionally sterile", meaning they can produce all the ingredients, but the odds of them actually producing any offspring are extremely low and most likely to occur during backcrossing with a white bass or striper than another hybrid.

Stocked trout are the same way . Sterile but they still produce eggs or sperm.
