schplurg Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 Well lakes are now closing all around it seems, disregard my earlier post. Calero, Lexington, Don Pedro, Camanche, all closed. I bank fished the lake 2 miles from my house today and there were a lot of people there. The lake sucks for fishing, but it's water so what the heck. I'd imagine I can still get a kayak onto the delta any time, so that will have to be it. My Dad lives on Tulloch, but how can I visit him when he's almost 78 years old and I have no way of knowing if I'm infected with the virus? 1 Quote
Super User ATA Posted March 22, 2020 Author Super User Posted March 22, 2020 To everyone in LA county, Castaic Lake is open for day time fishing, 7AM to 7PM, yesterday after I got confirmation email from there I went there, I catch nothing(NO BASS NO TROUT), but hey it is water and you can cast and kill the itch Quote
OnthePotomac Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 Our county parks are closed, but the state parks with launching on the tidal Potomac are open and all tournaments are stopped. Looks like the bass catch a break. 1 Quote
Russ E Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 We officially start shelter in place at midnight tonight. the local lake will stay open to boating and fishing, unless people are stupid and don't obey the rules. Unfortunately there are a few stupid people in our area. Friday afternoon at that same lake there was a group of around 20 to 30 people partying at a shelter house. there was a 10 person per group rule in affect then. As much as I hope the lake stays open, I am not all that optimistic. 1 Quote

I remember Walmart had Berkley binder with additional items as package about $35, but I didn't find it. Quote

schplurg Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 My closest small lake has had more people pounding the banks than I've ever seen. Hard to find a spot to park along shore. Still looking for my first bass. I'm just fishing whatever water is available to me for now and I'm grateful to have it. I'm going to look into the Delta. Marinas might be closed but I can launch a yak anywhere I can drag it to. I hope. 1 Quote
