Corps closed all ramps at Mark twain , probably everywhere. So much for social distancing .

I am not sure what is going on there.  Per this article from March 17th, ramps and day use areas will remain open at Mark Twain.  https://wgem.com/2020/03/17/mark-twain-lake-set-to-close-facilities/

Eric Prey did his Table Rock Lake report yesterday at a boat ramp and he mentioned nothing about any closings there.  I see no closings shown online for any other large lakes in Missouri.

I haven't ran into any issues yet.  Smithville closed their public areas but the ramps are still open per this FB post.  https://www.facebook.com/smithvillelake/

Some State Parks closed but than some reopened trails and lakes to fishing, but all buildings closed in Parks.

I believe everything is still open for the most part in Iowa but they canceled all tourneys through the end of April.

Closings might be a blessing.

Can you imagine if the food hoarders look at local lakes and think of all the fresh seafood they hold...?

That is unfortunate. I think fishing can be one of the few activities that we can do and remain fairly safe.  I hope they don't close any other lake facilities at the other large lakes in our state.

Just think, with all the lakes closing the fish will have lost all memory and will hit anything.....even on straight braid. Lol

I am a fan of Michigan's approach to it all . . .

Michigan's outdoors are here for you

Enjoy getting outside, but be ‘COVID-19 smart, safe and solo’

We know there’s been a steady stream of “closure” information and messaging about self-isolating to slow the spread of COVID-19. It’s true, we are in uncharted territory, and such steps are critical in protecting Michigan residents from coronavirus risk. Safeguarding mental health is just as important, and spending time outdoors – whether in your backyard, on your balcony or in big, open spaces – can boost mind, body and spirit.

Although the public contact areas (restroom buildings, shooting ranges, visitor centers) at many DNR-managed facilities are temporarily closed, people are still welcome to enjoy the public outdoor areas at state parks and recreation areas, state game and wildlife areas, state forests, state trails and, of course, our lakes, rivers and streams. For the duration of the COVID-19 situation, we’re waiving the need for the Recreation Passport for entry at state parks and other destinations.

Whether you want to hike or bike a new trail, scout your next hunt, paddle the open water or find a favorite fishing spot … Michigan’s outdoors are here.

I am going fishing!  On Saturday, we are taking 2 boats out, 4 people total, and doing a mini tourney!

Tom, I believe seafood is the general term for “fish” as food.

I buy rainbow trout fillets in my supermarkets seafood section and that’s a fresh water fish.

i should have said,

Can you imagine if the food hoarders look at local lakes and think of all the fish they could catch and eat.

No actual lake closings to my knowledge around here, but several private ramps have banned tournaments until further notice, and several tourney orgs have canceled their season openers.

Yes, the Corps of Engineering has closed Buggs Island (Kerr Lake) to all tournaments until further notice.

Individuals are allowed to use the ramps but not tournament anglers in a tournament.

California governor Newsom just ordered 60 day "stay at home" for everyone of all ages that will prevent local lakes from opening, therefore they are closed.

7 counties are now in "shelter-in" mode. No travel except for essential things, food, gas, etc. I don't think it would be wise to be towing a boat around

I use my boat to collect food

The very first thing Governor Idiot closed in Illinois was the state parks.  I guess everyone should avoid fresh air.

My wife is a teacher for the City Schools, and someone told her that Ohio was issuing special licenses to some Government employees that would allow them to be on the roads.

If this is true, they may be planning for a total lock down and may be pulling people over if they see anyone out driving.

Regardless, I am fishing this year, even if I have to risk going to jail for it. I will walk or ride a bike if I have to.
