skekoam Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Given the current Covid-19 crisis, I'm curious if any lakes in your area are closing. Similar to golf courses, I would think lakes would be one of the best places to be in open air and automatic social distancing. I was talking to a local guide this morning and he thinks it is a real possibility here in California. Quote
Jermination Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 tennessee lakes are staying open. i'd go regardless but glad to see theres a little sense out there 2 Quote
FishinBuck07 Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 So far still open here in Ohio, I would go also no matter what! 1 Quote

Super User WRB Posted March 18, 2020 Super User Posted March 18, 2020 Several local SoCal bass tournaments have been canceled. Lakes operated by city or state agencies may close if the personnel isn't allowed to work. Tom Quote

Super User scaleface Posted March 18, 2020 Super User Posted March 18, 2020 Corps closed all ramps at Mark twain , probably everywhere. So much for social distancing . Quote

Super User Spankey Posted March 18, 2020 Super User Posted March 18, 2020 Two that are like my home waters these days are. But no harm I guess I’ll fish the river until some changes happen. I really don’t understand the closing down of fishing these lakes. Where is any threat in that. I must be dense because I can’t see any logical reason. Quote
Super User Bird Posted March 18, 2020 Super User Posted March 18, 2020 Got first hand confirmation by phone here in VA that all State parks and lakes would remain open to the public. Closing a lake doesn't seem reasonable as fishing in a boat wouldn't be considerd congregation in my mind. I'm just looking for congregated bass. Lol Quote

volzfan59 Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 As far as I know all AR rivers and lakes are open. Like other's, I'll find a way to go if they were to close. Quote

fishingram24 Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 You would think being out on the water would be the safest spot to be. The ramps I use have an honor box to drop you money in and seldom see anyone at the marina but I only fish during the week since retirement. Quote

Tony johnson Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 As of yesterday all lakes in San diego county are closed... they are all ran by city and closed them... closest place for me to put my boat in freshwater is 4hours away on the Colorado river.. looks like it maybe time to hit the bay for some bass fishing Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted March 19, 2020 Super User Posted March 19, 2020 Parks and ramps in Northern VA are being closed....more each day; 'state lakes' are currently planning to stay open. I get that some staff has been reduced or told to stay home, but the local park system is even closing unmanned ramps and kayak launches....go figure that out Quote
