5/0 Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 Do these bait need to be kept in the shell packaging? Will they deform if taken out of package and put into zip locks or a Plano box for easier access and saving space? I leave my Keitechs in the shell and was wondering if these are better left in original packaging? Quote
JediAmoeba Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 I have always felt it depends how you are fishing them and how they are stored. If it is warm out and you dont have anything heavy sitting on them, they are usually ok not in the blister. The colder it gets the harder the plastic gets and deformities sort of stay with the bait, especially if something is on top of them. On moving baits, like putting them on the back of a chatterbait, it doesn't really matter. Quote

I do have a Plano for craws, but the are mostly Zooms and was thinking of using 2-3 slots for the Rage Tails. The box is stored on end in the main compartment of my bag. Quote

With ZERO Ill effects I might add. Besides taking up too much space, it's somewhat of a PIA getting a new bait in a timely manner on the water. I may use the original bag (of a zip lock) but the clam-ness goes bye-bye. A-Jay Quote
Dens228 Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 I keep them in a Plano box too. Never had an issue at all. Hot or cold. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 17, 2020 Super User Posted March 17, 2020 I leave then in the clamshell, and store/carry is a speed bag. No issues, though I do not have any that are years old. I use them so much, they don't hang around that long. Quote
5/0 Posted March 17, 2020 Author Posted March 17, 2020 Sorry for the upside down pic? From the suggestions the craws would be okay in this wallet, but how about Fat Swim Impacts? This thing could get pretty full, would it mess up their tails? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 17, 2020 Super User Posted March 17, 2020 You'll most likely mess up the Keitech tails, or tear the claws on the Ragetails. LEAVE THEM IN THE CLAMSHELLS FOR BEST RESULTS. 1 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 17, 2020 Super User Posted March 17, 2020 Big O want's the baits delivered PERFECTLY. 1 1 Quote
Shimano_1 Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 I store all my keitechs and rage craws in plano boxes and have never had any issues with either. I feel the clam shells take up far too much space for the amount I carry Quote
bigjean663 Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Only ones I’ve kept in the clamshell has been the Keitechs. Rage craws have been fine in a deep Plano pro patch. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted March 18, 2020 Super User Posted March 18, 2020 Keep mine n the clam shells, just because....... Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 18, 2020 Global Moderator Posted March 18, 2020 I pay extra for them to be perfect in that little package, so I leave them in the package they come in. 2 Quote
OnthePotomac Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Actually, those SK Rage Tail craws belong on the end of your line with a right slip sinker weight for where you are fishing reeled in with those craws going to town. Quote
