I own some 6th Sense Provoke jerkbaits (5 ft diver) and one Staysee 90 v2(deep dive) I have yet to use.

I mainly fish smaller reservoirs and a couple ponds in my metro area, both from bank and boat. Also fish Okoboji chain a few times a year.

The slots I am trying to fill for jerkbaits would be a shallower diver with a smaller profile for shallow ponds but also fishing clear water. And also just adding some deeper divers.

I have mainly looked at more lucky crafts, but am hesitant because of price and not understanding the different models: pointer vs lighting pointer, pointer XD vs staysee, staysee vs staysee v2 vs v3. I have also looked at Rapalas but wish they had heavier options in smaller profile.

Forage in lakes I fish is almost always bluegill and crappies, Okoboji has perch but also panfish.

Rapala makes lots of good jerkbaits from small versions used for panfish to large versions for big saltwater gamefish.

For an all round jerk bait, reasonably priced, I find an X-Rap hard to beat.

The Megabass and Lucky Craft baits are probably better fish catchers, but expensive.

I find my self throwing the Strike King KVD'S a lot, and I have a lot of high dollar jerk baits, some I've ordered from Japan, but the SK's work.  BPS has a big sale on the SK's during their spring sale.  Good buy.

I like the Jackal Rerange, but another expensive bait.

Word of warning:  Don't start buying the high dollar baits.  You will want more.

I recommend you Jackall Rerange Jerkbaits, its not as high as megabass or lucky craft also not like Rapala. it is standing somewhere between price range and in my idea same quality of lucky craft and megabass. as you can see I carry all almost all best available, but my number one so far in Rerange 130.

One I've heard mixed reviews of but absolutely love is the rapala shadow rap...especially in the bone orange belly color...works everywhere for me especially in cloudy skies or off colored water...I see your in Omaha so we fish a lot of similar situations and even lakes like okoboji area...I'm about an hour North of Sioux city

Agreed: Shadow Rap, Husky Jerk, and size 11 floating.  The Ripstops are good too.

"a shallower diver with a smaller profile for shallow ponds but also fishing clear water."

110 junior, flashminnow 80. Also a trick darter fished on heavier (10# or heavier) line. All of these are suspending baits.

Lucky Craft makes a bait called Wander 80 which is a slow-sinker. The FX-9 is a slow-med rising bait (It also rises nose-up, which is a different look.)

"And also just adding some deeper divers."

110+1 (~8 ft on JDM 10# size Tatsu), 110+2 (~12 ft on JDM 10# size fluoro). The KVD 300 deep jerkbait hits ~10 ft on JDM 12# size fluoro.

These are baits that you can work like jerkbaits. If you're looking for pull/ sweep type baits, there are a lot more options. Staysee, Pointer XD, Live-X Leviathan, and quite a few others.

"pointer vs lighting pointer, pointer XD vs staysee, staysee vs staysee v2 vs v3."

I don't know what a lightning pointer does. I have heard of it, know it's a newer and cheaper model, just never bought one.

Pointers come in different flavors, the regular pointer (the JDM version is called BFreeze, same bait), the slender pointer (if you only want one lucky craft, get the slender pointer 112), the flash pointer (newer). The silent pointer 95 is a sleeper, but very good bait.

The pointer XD hits almost 14 ft on JDM 12# size fluoro. I was impressed with the deepdiving abilities. Different profile and action from the Staysee too. Didn't catch much on it though. There's a Staysee 120SP that'll go past 12 ft on JDM 10# size fluoro, and I like it better.

The Staysee 90 v1 is a slow-riser, v2 is the suspending one, v3 is a slow-sinker.

love those rozante's for smallies.

the duo realis 110 sp is great for largemouth. the hooks that come with that bait are sticky sharp. I have lost very few fish with that bait.

Berkley Skinny Cutter 110+ is a sleeper.

It's been a favorite of mine since it came out, and it's NOT expensive. It keeps up with my other more expensive baits.

Been curious about this one, would you mind expounding upon it a little bit?

The Skinny Cutter 110+1 is a solid bait. Big bonus that is comes with great hardware and is a bit cheaper. I've got a few and they're pretty chewed up.

The SK KVD Deep has been a productive bait for me and doesn't cost an arm & a leg.

I do change the hardware.

This is one bait that initial cost doesn’t bother me as they last for ever...almost anyway?. Truth be told they are far cheaper than plastics if you account for long jevity (sp). I love my MB bone and perch

For a shallow jerkbait i've had good luck with the Damiki Slim Jack.  Super shallow runner.

First thing - go to the store and get some suspend-dots and/or suspend strips.  Using these sticky pieces of lead tape you can adjust nearly any jerk bait so that it will suspend, drop faster than "normal", rise slower than "normal" and so forth.

If you're just looking for different brands of jerk baits to try - Rogues are good and there are multiple sizes/ styles of Rogues available.   Same for Lucky Craft.  The Bomber Long A is an under rated jerk bait IMO.

At this point, there are so many jerk baits out there, just go to Tackle Warehouse and bust out your Master Card.   Or go to any number of JDM websites, bust out your Master Card (and be prepared to lose some weight because the JDM baits generally cost more, you might have to skip a few meals to pay for them)

How many do you want?    A few weeks ago, A-Jay posted a picture of his jerk bait collection.   I'm pretty sure that his collection isn't complete - he's likely to buy more.

My collection isn't that extensive, less then 200 I'd guess.  At this point I buy them just to have them, especially if I see one in a color I don't have or a brand I don't have on sale/close out.

No clue how old you are, but you might want until later in life before you pursue obsessive jerk bait collecting.  Start with the suspend dots and you've got plenty of adjustments for the ones you've already got.

I've fished a lot of em. Caught a lot of fish on most. I've settled on the megabass after years of swearing I'd never spend 25 bucks on a bait.  Yes...in my opinion they are that good. They have their flaws...hooks are sharp but weak, busted a couple after a lot of hard fishing and a ton of fish per bait. They just seem to get bit when nothing else will. They've paid for themselves in my boat.  If I couldn't buy them it would be kvd and lucky craft for me
