Jasie Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 Would like to know what is the best finesse rod and spinning reel to pair together for finesse bass fishing? I am looking at buying the Abu Garcia Revo X combo but not sure if this is the best option. Would love to know y’alls opinion. Thanks! Quote
Super User Scott F Posted March 14, 2020 Super User Posted March 14, 2020 How much money you got? By cost, the best is going to run you around $1,600 for just one combo. The definition of “best” changes depending what your budget is. Quote
walleyecrazy Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 As Scott said the "best" will vary depending on budget. I will say that regardless of budget I would steer you towards Daiwa and Shimano for spinning reels. I have used reels from all the major manufacturers, and in my opinion no one comes close to equaling those two on the quality of their spinning reels. 1 Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted March 15, 2020 Super User Posted March 15, 2020 Best compared to what? Everyone has different opinions so my best might or might not be the same as yours. Given a baseline of $1600 per rig, you need to be prepared to spend in the neighborhood of $6400 to get a decent answer to this question. Why is this? Once you've popped for one, thinking it is the best, you won't be satisfied that you KNOW it is the best. Then you got to pop for one or two or three similar rigs, so that you can make an honest judgement. If you decide that finesse spinning ain't enough, you can get into finesse bait casting. Then BOAT (Bust out another thousand - or two) Quote

Jasie, You are going to get a plethora of different answers no matter what you say, however, if you can provide just a little information, it will go a long way to eliminating ideas that are way out range. The members here are very knowledgeable and will be able to give you appropriate “opinions” to help narrow your search. Some things that would be helpful are: price range $_____- $_____, your intended use (drop shot, shaky head, wacky worms, etc., weight used (1/16, 1/8), how big of fish you are catching. Good luck in your search. Fishin Dad 1 Quote
