The first fish of the year was caught today (16" Smallmouth) on the deadly Nedly, and boy did it feel good despite the rain I soaked up. Here's to 2020!

That is all

My smallie lake still has ice on it. I’m thinking by this weekend it’ll be open.

First smallie of the year I got yesterday. First smallmouth from a lake for me as well. Nothing to write home about but, a first is always nice no matter the size. Now if only the water could warm some more to wake them up.

If only we had reasonable fishing seasons in Minnesota, Michigan is looking better and better lately

Today was a little windy but reached into the 60’s. So my season will probably end today right where it began. At 3:55 I was at a lake for 30 mins and was able to catch a largemouth on a red eye Shad in chrome blue back, then drove to a creek with easy access and threw a 6” Zoom lizard and caught this little smallmouth at 5:13. The first and last fish of the year was the same fish caught under the ledge it was under in March ☺️
