My wife claims I hold the record, bait monkey assures me she is wrong. I don't know but I've seen Mike Iaconelli's collection on Youtube and it's pretty impressive from new and current lures to old, discontinued lures, some of which are just kept as mementos. If you show your wife his collection, she'll either never complain again whenever you buy tackle or go marry him instead (I don't know which category your wife falls in ?) 15 minutes ago, newriverfisherman1953 said: No, but my wife might have Her: “You have too much fishing stuff.” I'm lucky! My girlfriend sees that I maxed out the room on my rod rack and had some overflow lures in an old cabinet the boys used as kids so she goes and buys me a special cabinet for fishing tackle where the bottom holds 3600/3700 trays and has rod holders on the sides. 1 Quote
suzuki2903 Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 no way! because then i might come to my senses and not buy anymore lol 2 Quote
tander Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 I have got 9 3700 boxes with nothing but hard baits , I am not going to count, don’t want to even know. 1 Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted March 4, 2020 Super User Posted March 4, 2020 I have not counted all my lures but it is enough to catch lots of nice fish. Quote

ghost123123 Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 Not enough because there are too many days when I don’t catch enough fish to satisfy my addiction! Quote

Harold Scoggins Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Anyone need any Risto Raps? I'm sitting on over 300 NIB. (I'm kidding, they're NFS) Quote
Super User Munkin Posted March 5, 2020 Super User Posted March 5, 2020 Simple for me; 1 basement, 1 garage, and 1 dining room each full. There are baits in the SUV, front porch, back porch, and office but those are not full yet. Allen 2 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted March 5, 2020 Super User Posted March 5, 2020 I have 24 3700 boxes full of lipless crankbaits, jerkbaits, topwater, and crankbaits for various depths. I might count them sometime, but since spring is around the corner I don't think I'll have time. Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted March 5, 2020 Super User Posted March 5, 2020 I haven't counted mine. They haven't built a calculator with enough numbers for me to get a total. I have more fishing tackle than my wife has pairs of shoes. Quote

I'm not sure what, exactly, I would get out of keeping a count of every lure. I think this might be sort of like a "who's is bigger" kind of question. 2 Quote

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that does this. I have all my soft plastic catalogued on an inventory app by lure type then brand then color. I can search by any keyword after that Quote
schplurg Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Count them? No. Organize them on a spreadsheet? No way! Open them and look at the pretty crankbaits? Ya kinda! I don't have enough baits yet to worry about keeping an inventory. I'm not organized (or crazy ) enough to do it anyways! Does anyone make a bait inventory app so you don't have to manually type in every bait? I wouldn't do that either (well ya never know), just wondering how you guys do it. I'm still buying mostly cheap baits so it's no big deal if I have duplicates. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 5, 2020 Super User Posted March 5, 2020 How would an inventory catch more fish? I mean, it might be something you do, because you like to keep track of stuff, but what's the real benefit? Quote
RedRob Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 I have 8 3700 and 8 3600 boxes loaded in a 7771 and 787 boxes. Then have a couple shipping boxes that have duplicates of all the baits I use most. As plastics get low I restock my box. hooks get low get another bulk pack out. Break a spinner off replace it. When those items I know I use go on sale I buy enough for 10 people for the next couple years. Quote
gilkeybr Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 It would be easier to measure by the pound instead of by count! Thats when you know you have a real problem! Quote

kayaking_kev Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 I don't have near as much stuff as a lot of you, but I do keep a list of the name, color, size, weight, diving depth, and what rod I will use for it. Most of everything has been purchased in the last year and a good bit of it this Winter. 6 Whopper Ploppers 3 Spooks 5 Frogs 4 Poppers 3 Lipless 3 Swimbaits 23 Crankbaits 4 Squarebills 25 Jerkbaits 8 Original Chatterbaits 1 Jack Hammer Chatterbait 6 Spinnerbaits 2 Underspins 20 Jigs 46 packages of plastic Not including panfish stuff. 1 Quote

I was at the right place at the right time when they discontinued those at put them out in a bin for $1, now I have enough Risto Raps to last a couple of life times. As far as a total count of all lures, I think it was around 20 years ago I started to count my cranks, jerks, and poppers and ended up stopping at a little over 3000. I don't know how many I have, it's a few. If you consider I've been buying and collecting for 50+ years, then a number like that doesn't sound all that crazy. It was around that time of my failed count that our insurance agent wanted it when we were updating our homeowners policy. When I asked him if he wanted to help me count them, he then said he would settle for pictures. 1 2 Quote
Born 2 fish Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 I have 30 3700 boxes full no way am I counting them. I’ve been adding to the collection for 25 years. 1 Quote
