I am looking at a boat with Lowrance Elite Ti2 Units on the console and the bow. It is not my first choice in electronics, but given the price I may go ahead and get this boat and use these for several years. I just need to know a few things before pulling the trigger.

I am confused as to exactly what is able to be shared and what is not. I have read conflicting things on different forum posts and websites. I read some places that they are only able to connect wirelessly and will not be able to share si/di. I have read other places that they have NMEA connector ports on the back and can use a NMEA 2000 network to share si/di, GPS positions, SmartSteer trolling motor control, and engine information. Which is true, or are neither statements completely true?

If these units are only able to connect wirelessly and are unable to share si/di from 1x 3 in 1 transducer, can I put another 3 in 1 transducer on the trolling motor (or use a Lowrance ghost with a 3 in 1 cone head) to get si/di on the other unit? If I did this, would I still be able to share sonar, waypoints, and map cards between the two units while using the 3 in 1 transducer on the stern for si/di on the bow unit and the 3 in 1 transducer on the trolling motor for si/di on the bow unit? Would I be able to use the sonar from either transducer on either unit?

I have a Elite Ti2/9 on my bow and Elite Ti2/7 on my console. They’re connected by NMEA 2K and share mapping and basic sonar between units.

I called Lowrance and they confirmed that down & side-scan sonar isn’t shared between units.

If you’re asking if you can swap mapping cards between units, yes, you can. I use my 9’s card in my kayak’s Hook5.

ti2 units can share mapping cards/waypoints and 2dsonar between each other wirelessly w/o nema or any cable. they cannot share down/side scan w/o nema.

I just purchased my first boat (2021 ranger rt188) and am having three elite fs 9’s installed with the nmea 2000 starter kit and Ethernet cable so I can get the most out of the ghost and elite’s. My question is, how do I have the nmea 2000 set up so I can shut it down when I head home so it isn’t draining my batteries. Also will three batteries be enough to power all of these items for a day on the water?  Thanks for your assistance on this. I appreciate it.

I run Ti2's on both console and bow. You can wirelessly (through Bluetooth) share both mapping and sonar from one unit to the next. That being said, I experienced quite a bit of lag in loading detailed maps this way, so I don't do it anymore. Also, when I did my own research some time ago, I believe I found that it was not possible to get side imaging through the NMEA network (which I don't have) - I think the only advantage of the network for Ti2 would be for control of other units, VesselView, and an external antenna.

You put it on a switch.

I have two Elite Tim's and hate the chart lag on Bluetooth and inability to see si/ds on the slaved unit. Is there a way to fix this?
