Super User slonezp Posted February 23, 2020 Super User Posted February 23, 2020 Took the ol'lady to buy a car last night. We've been shopping around for a few weeks now. She said wanted a black car or a white car. Mind you, she has always driven white cars. Narrowed it down to a white 2016 and a black 2017 Nissan Rogue. both with less than 20k mileage. Well, the black one was a much nicer car with less mileage and better equipped. Both cars Nissan certified. The white one was a bit louder and seemed to shift less smoothly than the black one. She didn't like the rims and didn't like the satellite antennae. Certified or not, it just seemed not right. I told her to get the black one or we will continue to shop around because there is something wrong with the white one. We bought the black car. Well, she hates the black car...for no other reason except the color. Arrrrrrrrggggghhhhh. 3 Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted February 23, 2020 Super User Posted February 23, 2020 Sorry for your pain. I’m lucky, as long as it’s a RED Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with an automatic transmission, heated seats, heated steering wheel, and CarPlay, all is good with my ‘boss’. ... do you know anyone at a body shop that can paint it white for you? 1 Quote
jbmaine Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 That's both sad and funny at the same time.?? 1 Quote

I should have known better. She's been without a car for a few months now. Last one got totaled and she's been sharing her daughters car. The car we bought is a lease trade in with 12k miles and fully loaded. The white one had 17k miles, less options, and was just not quite right to me... I should have just dragged her out of the dealership instead of trying to convince her the black was the way to go Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted February 23, 2020 Super User Posted February 23, 2020 @slonezp, just an option- they do shrink wrap cars now. I fished with a guy who did it for boats and trucks and did more cars. He said it was cheaper than a new paint job and protects the original paint Quote

Super User N Florida Mike Posted February 24, 2020 Super User Posted February 24, 2020 We had ( have ? ) a rule that we don’t make big purchases without each others input. So she goes and buys a new vehicle without me , ( don’t remember which one now ) and that’s ok, but I can’t buy a new fishing combo without complaints.??♂️ That was earlier on in the marriage though. Now we have no funds to buy either anyway. Quote
