has anyone had luck with plastic creatures? i began making my own that combines some good features bass like. and i think it is pretty good but i havent used it yet. I slither it across brush piles in my cichlid tank and the fish respond to it but dont exacly strike.

i hear the yamamoto Kreature is good

i also made a mini spider grub for panfish with a tube and grub combination. the tube skirt faces the jighead while the swirly tail is in the back

YUM wooly hawgtails in greenpumpkin work good in my opinion.

My go-to, specially in murky waters, are the Bush Hog and double wider beaver. In clear waters I rather use the Netbait action cat as a finesses type. I thing that GYCB Floppin Hog is a winner in this cathegory when it get back in the marquet.

I never use the Kreatures other than as a jig trailer.

For me Ikas come # 1 before creatures at any time.

My most productive has been Zoom's Baby Brush Hog Watermelon/Neon but recently I started using Stanley's Wedge Hog, and the bass hit it harder like their mad at it or something.

i use creatures a lot for flipping\pitching, a T-rig or Carolina rig. i mainly use the ZOOM Brush Hogs. just like you, i make my own.  i catch bass just as good on the ones i make as the other creatures i use. i use the brush hogs more for carolina rigging.  i use the ones i make for pitching\flipping.

These are my favorite type of soft plastics, theres so many different ones with all kinds of legs and arms that the bass have not seen at all or for long, my favorites out of many are berkley bungee hawg, gambler bacon rinds, and big time the hoo daddy by gene lerew, all of these texas rigged in natural colors, but my most used are green pumpkin, blue and black, and black neon, this yr im going to start using the creatures weights more to get those deep suspending hawgs

I love creature baits, especially on a Carolina Rig.  I know the bass in Barkley love Crigged creatures.

how do you make yours? i just take mangled ones and melt them together with a glue gun. my mini spider grub caught a few crappies already but im still wondering what to put on my bass creature

I really like the Berkley Power Hawgs.....they did real well for me this year.Only problem with the Berkley Power Bait products is you dont know if its the design of the baits that get the fish to bite or whether its the smell that gets 'em.

These are one of my favorite baits! I use all sizes of Zoom brush hogs and the Yamamoto Kreature. Green pumkin is the only color you need where I live.

ill take one later but it looks like a power craw body with 2 huge swirly tails from the end of powerbait grubs and 2 smaller ones in the back from srike king 3x worms

im making another one with some lizards limbs and a tube. The creature above is my stained water creature because its black/red flake body with chartreuse claws and huge lizard/craw profile. the one im makeing is for a medium to clear water watermelon lure.

Creature lures have the knack of being able to get bass when most other lures (including finesse worms) fail to work. This of course doesn't happen all the time, but it has happenned to me on occasions when because nothing worked I tried them for fun - and now I have seriously started using them.

Zoom brush hog, Yamamoto Kreature, and Berkley Powerbait hawg have worked well here, as well as the Sweet Beaver. Berkley Powerbait Bungee Hawg has also worked, but for some reason I have only caught bass below 2lb with it (maybe it's just a coincidence).

Just obtained Berkley Power Beast, these ought to work, but I have yet had to have a chance to use them.

It's kind of funny, bass attack savagely these things that look like a very disordand mutant hybrid between a worm, lizard, and crawfish. But then, bass are fish with a real character, so...

whats weird is people with creatures that look like crayfish plus some more appendages are killing the bass but the others with jigs (crayfish imitator) are getting skunked.

Well, I am not sure that bass perceive creature baits as crawfish, at least not most of them. I can see a sort of similarity to crawfish in the case of lures such as the sweet beaver or the powerbeast, but then you have the brush hawg and powerbait hawg sort of lures that look more like mutant salamanders or lizards with extra appendages. Maybe the image they present to bass is enough to instinctively attack something that looks like a more intimidating version of an animal they are geared to attack. Or perhaps the image perceived is still that of lizard (or crawfish in some cases) but the extra paddle-like appendages create such a different vibration signal that the bass, with their noxious character, just can't resist to attack....
