Super User DitchPanda Posted February 22, 2020 Super User Posted February 22, 2020 Do any of you use these on chatterbaits? If so what brands do you prefer? So far I've used flukes and pit bosses with good results but want to change it up some Let me ad I have searched thru some old chatterbait trailer posts...but I was just curious about any changes you guys have been having success with Quote
redmexican5081 Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 I use rage swimmers and have decent success with bass. The pickerel love them, so I tend to lose a few tails. 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted February 22, 2020 Super User Posted February 22, 2020 I do use a paddletail style trailers on vibrating jigs. A Swim Senko works well. Seem to get bites with either a Zako and a Rage Bug too. Be trying a new 'Goby' trailer this season as well. A-Jay 1 Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted February 22, 2020 Author Super User Posted February 22, 2020 I was looking at the little dippers on tackle warehouse and wondering if there big enough?I know they say 3.5 inch but that varies so much from company to company..would primarily throw them on siebert fogys and chatterbox customs which are both a little smaller baits in my opinion BTW that goby is a cool looking little bait Quote
Chunk_Chaser Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 I use the keitech swimbaits on my chatterbaits most of the time and love them. I catch plenty of Sm and Lm on them and also my biggest Musky! Walleye as well. Quote

waymont Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 My most successful trailer is the Cabelas Swim Minnow, 5” on Chatterbaits and Boss swimjig heads. Quote

I've always wanted to order some but I've got enough plastics to justify getting a 30pk of something at the moment lol. 1 Quote

Super User FryDog62 Posted February 23, 2020 Super User Posted February 23, 2020 I have found Grass Pigs to be effective and highly durable. On a Chatterbait, I don’t think you need something really soft or full of flavor... you just need action and durability. I save the Keitechs for when swimming alone as a swimbait. 3 Quote
813basstard Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 Gambler EZ Vibes has been getting a workout lately. They skip awesome to. She let a 6+ jump off today...we’re not speaking 3 Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted February 24, 2020 Author Super User Posted February 24, 2020 At least you had a 6+ on today...we've got 12+ inches of ice here..only thing I've seen jump off today was our cat off the top of the couch when I scared him Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 24, 2020 Global Moderator Posted February 24, 2020 I like the 3.8 and 4.8 Fat Impact type swimbait trailers. Mainly use the ones from Lake Champlain lures for trailers since they're more durable and cheaper than Keitechs. Quote

Try rigging them upside-down--the action of the paddle tail won't work against the action of the blade as much that way. Quote
