I started with 3600 and have many of them.  I am wondering if 3700 might be better due to capacity?  I have 2 bags:  cabelas advanced angler large and cabelas advanced angler 2 backpack.  These 2 bags are 3600 sized.  I use 3600 in my kayak crate too.  I keep my lures in the boxes and add/remove based upon time of year or lake I’m fishing.  Cabelas is having a sale on the waterproof 3700 boxes, been thinking about getting a half dozen of them.  These can fit in any number of boat bags I have.  Want to see what others are doing.

I don't use 3700 boxes because the accessories I use don't accommodate them.  My Coosa HD has storage for 4 of them - 2 under the seat and 2 molded in spaces beside the seat.  I only use the 2 under the seat, the other 2 get on the way of a backward paddle stroke or sweep.  I got so used to this, that I put a couple of Wilderness pouches under the seat of my OT Predator pedal drive.  The rest of the boxes go in my crate, and I can get either 5 or 6 there depending on which type (the 'worm' ones are really thick).  Anyway, I do wish that I could just throw everything in, but with the 3600 boxes, there are several boxes of hard baits, several boxes of jigheads, etc. and so I have to consolidate.  It's probably better to just stop buying so much tackle, but for certain baits (crankbaits), a 3700 box would make it easier.  I don't know enough about the Topwater PDL, is there any moulded in places for Plano boxes, either 3600 or 3700?  And how do you carry your boxes now, in those bags or just the crate?

I use a crate in either kayak.  I use the bag or backpack if I am going in a friends boat or my boat.  You’re right, the OT TW 106 is built for 3600 under the seat.

That doesn't mean you can't put a 3700 somewhere.  When I thought about it, the simplest place for me would be inside the front hatch for me, with my soft plastics binder.

If you're looking at the cabela's waterproof utility boxes, get them. They're the same exact thing as the bass mafia(literally, the same thing) and have lasted me 3 years  now w/o having any water issues. I only use the large blue size. The medium green isn't terribly spacious .

I used to have a Cabela's tackle bag that held 6 3600 sized boxes. I got a crankbait box, spinnerbait box and 4 3650s. That thing wasn't actually too terrible and you could bring anything you'd need for a single trip. That is, if you load it up wisely with lures appropriate for the lake you know you'll be fishing, it's adequate for that, but the space was rather limited. I ultimately traded that bag to a friend for his that held 4 3700s boxes -- I had all of the specialty trays which he can take advantage of, and this way I can travel light with 3700s if I hike to a lake somewhere. But it was not a horrible setup for how I used it.

I have since upgraded to the Bass Mafia Tackle Bag that can hold up to 12 (I think) 3700 trays. I have a spinnerbait box, deep diver box, double 3700 box, double open compartment box for soft plastics, and 4 more single boxes I keep in it. It's pretty heavy but I can load it into the back of my truck and go. I have a cabinet on my porch for some additional tackle I don't normally carry with me, mostly backups for when I lose something in the tackle bag.

This year I am going to buy a kayak so I'm going to experiment with some waterproof boxes that I can load before each trip for what I'll likely use on each trip and see how that works, rather than haul a larger amount of tackle with me.

I think they are the same as the cheaper bass mafia boxes. I shopped for deals and whatnot and got all of the upper end bass mafia boxes, and those things are fantastic. You can run them over with your truck and they'll survive. Expensive, but I'll have them forever. The cheaper ones are nice too, but I'm not sure they're worth the cost especially when the Cabelas are near the same thing
