Just did a straight strength test between stren and big game of the same diameter. I tested them both 3 times with three yards. Big game had the strongest run(barely), but the average went to stren.

IMO, a dry line 'strength test' done in your kitchen, might not accurately represent how each line will perform on the water.  There are a lot of forces in play from both you, a fish and the boat.

Also that unrealistic length of line often used for 'strength tests', is not indicative of actually fishing conditions unless, you're using a cane pole.

What an be particularly valuable however, is all the years of experience these most generous BR members have shared here in this thread, just for you.

Keep testing.

Been using a lot of stren for a leader and I have to say I love it so far. Although this is true I am trying to keep my eyes open. Does anyone know of a better mono as a leader material?

Stren mono is a good choice for mono leader. I use Berkeley Big Game mono with good results.
