JWall14 Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 Some of you may have heard about this but I need to get a few to try this summer on the creek. Jackall Micro Pompadour!! Carries a hefty price tag of $27 for such a small bait, only 42mm. I’d guess it’s worth it though. Seems like the perfect size for creek fish. 2 Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted February 20, 2020 Super User Posted February 20, 2020 With a price tag like that there is no danger of me ever buying one. 2 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted February 20, 2020 Super User Posted February 20, 2020 That bait is a reproduction of this ~ https://www.lurenet.com/heddon-crazy-crawler The Heddon Crazy Crawler has been around I'm guessing 50 years - My Dad fished one when I was a boy. Works great - costs quite a bit less. If your creek smb are going to eat that, they'll eat this. A-Jay 5 Quote

Super User Scott F Posted February 20, 2020 Super User Posted February 20, 2020 If you order them from a shop in the US, you can get them for at least $10 cheaper each. 1 Quote

Not correcting, just adding data. One of us is maybe quite long in the tooth. I bought a couple of the crawfish cranks you were recommending a while ago. Pressure is on you now. ? 1 Quote

Super User MickD Posted February 20, 2020 Super User Posted February 20, 2020 My experience with the Crazy Crawler was that it was basically a fancy Jitterbug, but not as effective. I also think the soft lures like the Strike King toads would be just as effective, probably more. For streams/creeks, I think smaller is better. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 24, 2020 Global Moderator Posted February 24, 2020 There's some nice cicada lures out there that do basically the same thing for much cheaper too. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Duo_Realis_Shinmushi_Cicada_Bug/descpage-DUOSHI.html https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Savage_Gear_3D_Cicada_Crawler/descpage-SG3DCD.html 1 Quote
Steelhead Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Done very well on the Pompadour Jr. on Largemouth and to a lesser degree, Smallies. Definitely will p/u this bait. Looking forward to the Evergreen Shower Blows in the new 3" version. Quote
