NittyGrittyBoy Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 For any locals, Ga DNR posted this: looks juicy! Use to be lots of pads with tannic water. 1 Quote
Hook2Jaw Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 When we going, old son? I'm not above snagging shad with the trebles. Papa needs a new PB! I got a cork for those beasts to knock down and a circle hook to sink. 1 Quote

Hook2Jaw Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 I'm headed that way now. Gotta beat the weekend weiners. Quote
NittyGrittyBoy Posted February 18, 2020 Author Posted February 18, 2020 That's the Joy's of shift work. I rarely if ever have to fish a Saturday anymore! 1 Quote
Hook2Jaw Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 I got Friday off, but I keep Jr. on that day, every week. The weekend after this one I'll be headed to Santee Cooper fishing the KBF Open there. It'll be a second before I can make it to Ocmulgee. Quote
NittyGrittyBoy Posted February 18, 2020 Author Posted February 18, 2020 They dont make car seats for that yak? ? Dude, Good luck on the open! I'm rooting for ya! https://www.flwfishing.com/news/2018-04-08-top-10-baits-from-santee-cooper I'm sure you've already breezed through that ^^ Quote
Hook2Jaw Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 She won't let me take him until he can swim. I've breezed through absolutely everything daily leading up to this tournament. The rain is scheduled to last through next week, I fully believe I'm going to be on chocolate milk trying to buy bites close to cover on spawning flats or ditches running into those spawning flats. I'm planning my lineup as 1/2oz jigs in BB and GP with water displacing trailers. 3/16oz finesse jigs on the next rod, same type of trailers. Wacky worming. Texas rigged worms and craws. I may try to topwater some and hope they're hungry since they should be staging to bed and the water will be a mess. I'll probably throw a lipless as well, maybe some cranks. I might order a handful of Colorado Blade spinnerbaits. I am nervous. Quote
NittyGrittyBoy Posted February 19, 2020 Author Posted February 19, 2020 Sounds like you have the basics covered. Dont stress it bro you got this! Easy win! Anyway you can pre fish it some? Quote
Hook2Jaw Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 I'm gonna prefish it starting Friday morning and try to be at my first spot by daylight, got about a 20 minute pedal. I have to be off the water around 3 to go to the captain's meeting. Thanks for the vote of confidence, brother. I've decided if my mindset isn't there to win it there's no reason in going, and I'm headed that way to cash a daggum check. 3 Quote

Patrick Reif Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 I fished the Ocmulgee one time. It was a blast. I didn't catch any huge shoalies, but my first one was 3.12#. Definitely want to hit it again Quote
