Smokinal Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 My BPSPQ reel sometimes does not lock into the anti reverse. This is very annoying when I'm yo-yoing a trap where there is constant stop and wind during a retrieve. Is this something I can tweek myself or do I send it to DVT? Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 Thoroughly flush the AR bearing and swab the rollers lightly with light oil. If that doesn’t fix it I’ll replace the AR or send you one. 2 1 Quote
Smokinal Posted February 17, 2020 Author Posted February 17, 2020 ^^Thank you for the tip and offer! I've barely ever opened a reel; where is the AR bearing? lol Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 The AR is pressed into the crank side plate. If you’re not in the habit of disassembling for cleaning the whole reel could benefit from deep cleaning. You might want to consider sending it in. If you want to try DIY email me for instructions. Smokinal Posted February 17, 2020 Author Posted February 17, 2020 Thank you man; I'll do some homework and look at some breakdowns of it and try to give it a shot. I'd just like to know more about how it works myself. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 You’ll see a sleeve around the crank shaft that locks either to the shaft or top drag (key) washer. The sleeve spins inside the one way clutch bearing. 1 Quote
