Here is a rough map of my local reservoir. How big could I expect the bass here to get? 5lbs? 7lbs? I can not find this information online about weights and sizes of catch’s. 369411D9-93D7-484C-88ED-4E07F0D282BF.thumb.png.7b0b214236aaf9d06586aeed855e88c7.png

Talk to your local dnr.    Most states do shocking surveys to determine  health of  the lakes.

Can`t tell by a picture of the lake.

There are a lot of things involved.

Forage base, fishing pressure, water quality etc. Are all a big part of how big a bass can get.

Here in Kansas the department of wildlife puts out a bass forecast every year based on their shocking surveys.  In general it is a good indication of what is happening in each lake.

Not surprisingly the lake that produces the majority of bass over 5 lbs for me,  consistently ranks  number 1 or 2  in the state.

This would be a wild guess. We had a state record bass over 14 pounds caught here a few months ago. It was caught out of a lake of less than five acres. You could only fish from the bank as there were no boat ramps.

Largemouth or smallmouth?

Too many factors go into it to just guess from a map of a lake. I've caught 6 pounders from ponds I could cast across. I also fish some great looking lakes that never give up anything over 5 pounds.

Man I’m glad you included that detailed map. Without that, it would be a wild guess....
