JJSlime Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 Has anyone found a setup that can pick a fight with a zebra mussel and win? Quote

Russ E Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 All of our local lakes have Zebra mussels. When fishing the bottom, I use Sunline Sniper or Assasin Fluorocarbon line. It tends to slide over the mussels better than most lines, without getting shredded. A good copoly or mono also works fairly well. With any line you have to check for nicks often. from my own experience using braid around zebra mussels is about the same as using sewing thread. It is nearly useless. 1 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 11, 2020 Global Moderator Posted February 11, 2020 No such animal. Just have to know you're going to come out on the losing end of the deal when fishing around the razor clams. Shorter cast help if possible so you're not dragging your line through them as much. Baits with the line tie on top instead of the front of the bait help a little. Presentations that don't touch the bottom too much are best case scenario. Quote
