Super User Koz Posted February 10, 2020 Super User Posted February 10, 2020 The marlin dragged him around for about 15 miles and he finally had to switch to another boat so he could land it without tiring it to death. I guess when you catch one that big on a kayak you try to lock down your reel and hold on for as long as you can. 3 1 Quote

I latched into something huge in the salt in a kayak once that started taking me out. I tightened the drag and let it break me off on purpose. I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to the ocean in a small boat. I caught a few sting Ray's and freaked out pretty bad 1 1 Quote

Super User Bankbeater Posted February 12, 2020 Super User Posted February 12, 2020 The whole time watching this I kept thinking What if he had hooked a big shark? There is no way I'm getting out on the ocean in a kayak. 2 1 Quote
skekoam Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 Seems like that only works if you are set up for it like those guys were. Once something that big was on my line, I'd cut the line and paddle back to shore like a little girl. 1 Quote
Hook2Jaw Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 You can have four days of fishing with those guys for about 3k. I plan to do so the year after next. 1 Quote
