South Carolina, I'm guessing?  We're absolutely flooded in Georgia as well.  I'll be happy when someone rigs up a DIY underspin for jig heads!

Just trying not to spend 4-5ea on a piece of terminal tackle I'm bound to lose.  I've thought about wrapping wire around hook shanks and twisting eyes at the end and adding swivels and blades.

I'm probably just better off buying the suckers.

Honestly, I'd love some like you've made. Which hooks and weights are those? May be interested in buying some.

Wow! The all look great!

You did a magnificent job adding the underspins.

Please let us know how they do when the waters go back down and clear up.

Thanks for showing us your beautiful work.

Send me a personal message when you post pics or tell your underspin stories so I can read the post.

Yes sir will do. I gave several to a few friends and they loved them, will hit Mama's pond up soon, still wet and raining, guess I'm a fair weather fisherman. Oh well

Leland Lures (the Trout Magnet company) makes an underspin up to 1/4oz, 3 to a pack for $2.99.  They use the shad dart shaped heads, and only come in three colors (pink, orange and chartreuse), but for the price point, you can't beat it.

that is cheap for them, but not sure how I would or what I would throw on that type of lead

I modified a herring head underspin mold to accept a 240lbs test wire so I could extend the blade a bit further down and back.  I honestly don't like the hardware Do-It sells for this mold.  It's just flimsy to me, so I ground a channel and bent some wire.

The larger blade(#3 I think) is for swimming.  The smaller blade I don't even care if it turns or not.  I slow roll that one and will hop it sometimes at the edge of emerging grass.

I almost always tip these with a Skinny Dipper.  That's my favorite commercial swimbait.

Those look good, and I agree I've spent more money trying different wire than anything. And fortunately I had a machinest mill my mold after I designed in cad.sodtware

I’ve still never used an underspin. What type of water/situations do y’all use them in? I can’t catch a bass with a spinnerbait to save my life, maybe an underspin can bridge the gap

Grubs, paddle tail swimbaits (like a Keitech or Zoom ZSwim), I would even throw a fluke on it.

Shad Dart heads are really versatile.

Love the Skinny dipper my favorite as well. I've tried lots of others but that's my favorite. Looks good

I really need to buy that mold.  A buddy has it, but he lives over an hour away and it's just a huge issue with us being able to get our times to match

Not this mold I designed it myself and had it milled. The production mold similar is more bananmas shaped and weight is more in the bend instead of forward towards the eye of the hook
