rogatsby Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 Hi guys. Just found a pack of these in an old tackle box. Never used them before. Has anyone tried these or anything similar? Do you think ot would be effective, and how would you rig and fish a bait like this? Thanks. Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted February 9, 2020 Super User Posted February 9, 2020 I believe it would catch fish. I would fish it as a Texas rig with the two long arms out behind the bend of hook. It might work as a jig trailer depending on the length of it. 1 Quote
Jig Rookie Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 I think they'd definitely work as a jig trailer, specifically when you want a bulkier, louder profile and presentation. It seems like it could be too big and flappy when you need a quieter, finessier look. Nice find. 1 Quote
Hook2Jaw Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 I would Carolina rig that sucker, first and foremost. I like big, bulky baits on my Carolina rigs. Second, I would pitch it in light to moderate cover. There are a lot of appendages to get caught up on a thicker laydown or grass patch, and I would opt for a more streamlined bait for that. Third, I would put it on a swing head and fish it like a crankbait. 1 Quote
rogatsby Posted February 10, 2020 Author Posted February 10, 2020 When the weather gets warmer, I may try to fish this bait with this, and maybe try to land a big one. Could work, right? 1 Quote
