I took this sad backyard photo this morning before work, I just wrapped her up last week for her long winters nap here on the Northcoast :'( Well I guess there's hunting and icefishing, till April arrives here in Ohio to keep my buds and me busy! 8-)  D.

that is painful to look at  , here in illinois we havent got snow yet but its coming soon i put my boat away a couple weeks ago, need to find a winter hobby. instead will probably spend the next few months packin on as much bodyfat as i can from thanksgiving  and xmas . missin fishin already.

I guess you will have to lock the trailer hitch; store the batteries; and read some good fishing books this winter as you arn't going anywhere for a spell.

I'll pull that picture out next August when it's 98 degrees and 98 percent relative humidity.  It will serve to remind me why living in Florida is pretty good duty.

I'd brush that snow off the top of your boat cover to get the weight off.  I once had one rip wide open on me cause the snow came down on it.  Next morning I found it busted wide open and all that snow down in my boat.  Tee Peeing the cover helps, it's about the only thing you can do if you don't have a shelter to park it under, but it's not enough sometimes as I found out.  Now I just buy tarps instead cause if it's gonna happen at least they're cheaper to buy than a fitted boat cover.   ;D

I keep telling myself every year that I will give ice fishing a try.

I didn't even realize that the water was already frozen over up here.  I found out when I got there with the boat and had to make a u-turn back to the garage. ;D

I put two plastic saw horses under the first "old" blue tarp and tied it down tight, then the cover strapped just enough to be snug, so hopefully it won't rip. In these cold Ohio winters you kinda make the choice of keeping both her car and your newer SUV in the garage at night (no scraping ice and snow) or her car and your boat. Well the boat got the backyard. And to all you Floridians, Californians and warm climate people- Us Northerners absolutely love our seasons, I would'nt trade a day in October being out on a boat, Crappie fishing, looking at all the trees changing colors for anything! Or Pheasant hunting with friends in the harvested corn fields on Thanksgiving morning (ok maybe by February I'll trade a week at the beach.: The winter here is a love/hate relationship, but its a time to rest, catch up on some good books and movies sitting by the fireplace (no yardwork!) Saturday night card partys, OHIO STATE FOOTBALL!!! (Sorry bout that Michigan- and most of all - The holidays! They just were never the same as home, when I was stationed out in Cali in the military. And I'll let you in on a little northern secret-Turkey and Ham taste so much better when its cold and snowy outside! Happy Holidays! 8-) D.

Yes indeed that is most certainly sad.  :'( I'm glad I live in Phoenix where my boat is bathed in sunshine and unfrozen water. 8-)

I feel your pain :'( :'(.  I could've taken the same picture of mine up here in Syracuse.  It never gets easier either, the snow still makes me depressed and I've lived in this crap for a LOOOONNNGGG time!!! Luckily this may be my last, moving to Tennesse next summer. Nothing to do now but get your tackle ready for the spring and wait for the new season of fishing shows to come out in January.

Now, this is a SAD, SAD photo.  About this time last year.  We had an ice storm here in Tulsa.  The poor tree next door just couldn't take the ice load and decided to fall on my Suburban and boat.  $1800 damage to the truck. The boat's trolling motor and jack-up wheel were both trashed.  The truck was insured.  You can't insure a boat for that type of damage.

We occasionally see that 'snow' stuff down here in Texas but it usually melts as soon as it hits the ground.  

I really feel for you guys up north.  I couldn't imagine living where water freezes over.   Seems like it would really ruin the bass fishing.
