Excluding a Whopper Plopper - what is your favorite Prop Bait for bass ? Old school names such as Devil's Horse and Heddon Torpedo are still around as well as newer offerings . I don't have much experience with prop baits  (beyond a Torpedo) but vow to try the new Berkley Spin Rocket and a Yo-Zuri 3DB Prop Bait this Spring  ... Your thoughts & experiences ?

Those are my 2 favorites of the non-plopper type baits.

I've got a R2S Lane Changer and Big Mistake that seem like nice baits, but got them late in the season and haven't put them to any real use yet to say if they're worth it or not. I bought them both for about 1/3 their regular price, I believe they'll be worth what I paid at least.

I've been using the Cordell Boy Howdy, and Crazy Shad for years.

H2O Xpress Slush Daddy.  I love $4.50 lures that catch fish.  When Academy unlisted all their hard baits a year or so ago I about lost my mind.

I've been wanting to try the Berkley Spin Rocket.

I've always been a Devils Horse guy. But what I've found to replace them is Rapala X-Rap Prop bait. Hands down my favorite prop bait now.

I’ll have to try that out... I’ve had good luck with the Skitter Prop for smallies.  Maybe a little extra tail feather would be even better.. ?

No longer available but the Bomber Prop A is by far my most successful prop bait . When they  were discontinued and in the clearance bins I bought a lifetime supply .  The largest six fish limit I ever caught was on one . Its a post spawn big fish slayer .

Its simply a Long A Minnow with a prop on the tail .

I have a long-time fondness for the Heddon tiny torpedo.  As for more modern designs, the yo-zuri is a good one, and I also like the bagley pro sunny B and rapala skitter prop.  I haven't tried the new Berkleys yet, but I have a spin bomb and a Spin rocket waiting impatiently in my topwater box to get subbed in this year.

Propbaits are really underrated in my opinion, and deserve more attention all through topwater season.

My most productive, and of course favorite, prop bait is the Deps Buzz Jet.

Either size works equally well

Skitter Prop is great. Spits a lot of water.

*This is why the Rapala , Berkley or Yo-Zuri offerings might make for a nice alternative .

I am always trying to throw stuff other guys arent.  The prop style bait seems to be off the radar these days in favor of faster moving baits like ploppers but there are times and places that the prop bait is the better choice.

Anyone ever heard of a Gilmore Lures Jumper prop bait?  Double super secret old school wooden prop bait that gets em!

@BoatSquirrel and another good maker is Sam Griffin. The man must had 30 different top water models most with props on them. I have 5 or 6 different models by him in several colors in each style. Old school classics that will work just as good today. And yes I have some of the Gilmores too, I love the old models with glitter added on top of the paint!

I have a couple of these, I think one may be the tiny and the other micro or something.  These are the only propbaits I've ever caught a fish on except the Whopper Plopper.  I think I have a Yozuri propbait, but it's never caught a fish for me.

These are two of my favorite made locally by a guy here in South Carolina. The bluegill is my #1 prop bait, but that shiner one has caught some monsters down in Florida on Lake Okeechobee for some buddies.

Heddon Torpedo in that metallic white color they have. Caught tons of fish and nearly an owl on it.
