Uh oh, there's a Sportsman dealer fairly close in Clayton, NY.

@slonezp that's a pretty boat.  There's a couple things I don't care for, but that thing has a lot.

The Masters 247 Bay is plenty nice and considerably less expensive

Once the queen sees that double stern seat and a porcelain head option, and it's gonna be all over for me, lol.

If you go look, post your opinion.

They don't have one in stock and it's a little over 2.5 hours away.  They only have a Heritage and a few Opens in stock.  I guess I could see build quality from those boats, but I'd like to buy off the floor if possible, when I'm ready.

The more I learn about this boat, the more I'm willing to think about a 6 hour drive for a boat.  Here's a nice overview with Matt Cashion's (Cashion Rods owner) boat and a few others.

I only show you this because I was on the lake yesterday when they were testing one.

They make these down the street and their plant is just short of amazing.

Funny thing...Earl Bentz had the Triton plant across the street...and now he has a new company on the other side of the street.

16" draft.

26 HB – Caymas Boats

After a week or so of research and this is the boat I want. Thanks for turning me onto them. They weren't on my radar at all before you posted. I thought they only built bass boats.

I didn't care for the updates. Looked like the compromised a lot of the fish ability for comfort features. I'm m hot on that Caymas now.

Thankfully I didn't have family with me. They know I've been on the Dauntless train for quite a while now. There's one that's been moored next me for the past 8 years or so. They'd have me trading up...But of course, they like spending my money. ?

I really liked that Dauntless design, which is what initially attracted me to the segment. The new design looks like everyone else's design. The Caymas on the other hand seems like they were building it with me in mind. I must not be the only one.

No, I haven't.  It's still the one that really turns my screws though.

It's January, of course!  It's also two whole summers since I had a boat. We're not quite there for this kind of purchase.

I totally understand. Last year was my first with a boat that took me to places I couldn't go otherwise. Had a lot of fun doing in...Until I got the winterization & storage bill...?

It's this type of thing that I could afford, but negate any savings, if you add it all up.  So wait we will.  Almost there :)

My son decided to get his driver's license on the first try and I scrambled to find another vehicle. The money earmarked for the winter boat "stuff" turned into part of the down payment for another vehicle...?

Don't have anymore kids J...?

At 50, with an 18 month old running around, pretty sure I'm done.
