Swings are free Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Does anyone know what these lines mean? I get them from time to time on my lowrance hook2 9 splitshot on the water with no readings. This picture was on my driveway and the unit was still acting up. Any ideas? Thanks. Quote
Tim Kelly Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Horizontal interference lines are usually cause by two units, maybe now and console unit interfering with each other in deeper water when the signals from the front and rear transducers overlap. No idea what's going on with you unit though. That looks completely different. Quote

Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted February 7, 2020 Global Moderator Posted February 7, 2020 Holy goodness never seen that. Is there a piece of something blocking the view of the transducer? Quote
Jermination Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 lowrance will do this out of the water sometimes, fill up a trashcan with water if its on your TM and put it in there then restart everything. It also says your water temp is 110 degrees. a good ole soft reset may be the way to go Quote

A lowrance tech thru emailing told me it’s possibly a bad transducer Quote
Michigander Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 You probably already did these but troubleshooting is troubleshooting... Did you check every inch of all of your unit's wires to make sure you don't have any exposed, kinked, crushed, or otherwise damaged sections? Checked all terminals for both corrosions and secure fit? Is the wire wrapped around anything else that would be putting out a localized magnetic field, like pump, electrical junction, or motor? Do you have any obvious damage to the transducer itself? Gouges, chips, or foreign objects? Is your unit set to a frequency that the transducer cant handle? Is your transducer getting enough power? Quote

The wires are ran along trolling motor shaft. No damage on transducer. 455hz. I would think it’s getting power, I’m not sure lol. lowrance tech told me to hook it up to a friends transducer and check to see if it’s my unit or transducer, hard to do when my friends don’t have boats lol. But they think it’s the transducer just through exchange of emails and the picture I sent. $80 possible fix. Was going to use the built in transducer on my minn Kota maxxum 74 But I think it’s too old and for a hook2 unit? Unless I’m wrong. Quote

You should be fine connecting it to the trolling motor's transducer, especially for just 2D. You might have to play with the input settings in your unit, but it should work. That will at least tell you whether it's the transducer or the unit. Quote

Can’t find one for universal sonar 1 online which would be the one I should’ve bought in the first place instead of thinking 3 prongs would fit in 4 holes adapter with not needing the 4th hole for downimaging or something and just only having sonar...lol. Wishful thinking maybe lol Quote

Wishful thinking maybe lol I guess I'm not sure which cables ends you have. I would suggest asking the Lowrance tech for a part number for an adapter cable. Regardless, you're probably in for at least 25% of the cost of a new transducer, but that isn't necessarily the faulty part. Ah, boat problems, Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted February 9, 2020 Global Moderator Posted February 9, 2020 I’d go back to the hose clamp transducer hahah Quote
