brgbassmaster Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Well guys i finally installed new carpet and a rodbox in my 88 bass tracker 17ft. i wanted a rodbox put in because when i bought it there wasnt one and i hated not having it with rods all over my boat. it looks pretty darn good if i do say so myself. i can fit 8 rods in the locker. and believe it or not we took my whole boat apart to do this remodeling it was hard work. took 3 weeks with someone helping. this guy really helped me out alot and hooked me up. front middle back inside box Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted November 16, 2008 Super User Posted November 16, 2008 You did a great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
brgbassmaster Posted November 16, 2008 Author Posted November 16, 2008 thank you i had alot of help. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted November 16, 2008 Super User Posted November 16, 2008 Everything looks GREAT. But, I don't like the rod holders. Be careful not to break your eyes when puting in or taking out. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted November 17, 2008 Super User Posted November 17, 2008 VERY nice work. I have the same boat as you do. I've often thought about installing a rod locker, but concluded that I didn't have enough room. It never occurred to me to move the passenger seat to the center. Quote
Ldavis Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Great job!!! Any tips for a rookie. I plan on doing my boat(Fisher aluminium) this winter. What type of carpet and glue did you use? Approx how long did it take? Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted November 20, 2008 Super User Posted November 20, 2008 Looks like you did a A-1 bang up job. Congrats and be proud. Quote
DADto4 Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Very nice job, I also would agree with the rod locker, I would suggest some plastic tubes for the tip ends to slide into. Is that a BPS rod in there I see? Quote
IDbasser Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Nice work! I would put some felt on the holes to help protect the rods. Quote
The Next KVD Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I agree on the felt idea. Rough water w/ rods banging against wood is a recipe for a broken rod. Quote
Black Bass Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Nice job. There are good suggestions for improving your rod locker. Good fishing. Quote
