waymont Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 What do you people do who wear distance glasses in regards to polarized sunglasses? Quote

Super User MN Fisher Posted January 30, 2020 Super User Posted January 30, 2020 I picked up this set last year - worked great. https://www.amazon.com/Punasi-Polarized-Plastic-Sunglasses-Outdoor/dp/B01C5GF40M/ref=pd_sbs_309_38?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01C5GF40M&pd_rd_r=1610d21c-ffe0-40c9-928a-bf23d66fed10&pd_rd_w=nDnhj&pd_rd_wg=w6H4Z&pf_rd_p=bdd201df-734f-454e-883c-73b0d8ccd4c3&pf_rd_r=A1CF4EZQPV4193GXSV2N&refRID=A1CF4EZQPV4193GXSV2N 2 Quote
Bama John Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 I bought "fit overs" as I need bifocals. Since they fit over your glasses they are not the most fashionable item but they work fine and I am happy with mine. Be sure to get polarized and a Google search will lead you to many providers. I paid in the $25 range if I recall correctly. Quote
Super User Tennessee Boy Posted January 30, 2020 Super User Posted January 30, 2020 I bought my prescription polarized sunglasses at Sam's club. Quote

Barely afford my standard prescription glasses, purchasing prescription sunglasses is out of the budget. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted January 30, 2020 Super User Posted January 30, 2020 I use Onos with readers, (Old Guy Eyes) Have several pairs and have been satisfied with them. They offer several styles & sizes, all available with RX https://onos.com/collections/prescription A-Jay Quote
BassinCNY Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 I wear prescription bifocals and use Foster Grant Solar Shields. You choose the appropriate size and shape to clip on your glasses. I like them because they come on and off easily and store in a pfd pocket. My wife prefers contacts and bifocal sunglasses. Quote
Super User scaleface Posted January 30, 2020 Super User Posted January 30, 2020 My glasses came with extra magnetic sunglass lens . Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted January 30, 2020 Super User Posted January 30, 2020 I have the transition lenses in my bifocals. They're constantly adjusting to the light levels, and I don't have to worry about losing them since I never take them off. Quote
Harold Scoggins Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 After my cataract surgery two years ago, I didn't have to wear my glasses anymore and I can also see sounds. 1 2 Quote
Super User Scott F Posted January 30, 2020 Super User Posted January 30, 2020 I’ll use clip ons or flip ups in the car, but for fishing, I like the Cocoons that fit over my glasses. I like the side shields they have that you don’t get with flip ups. 1 Quote
Super User NHBull Posted January 30, 2020 Super User Posted January 30, 2020 Oakley progressives, but they are pricey Quote
Super User WRB Posted January 31, 2020 Super User Posted January 31, 2020 I always used prescription polarized sunglasses for decades before having cataract surgery that fixed my vision issues. Check your vision care insurance usually covers a pair of glasses each year so get regular the 1st pair and sunglasses the 2nd pair. Tom 1 Quote
Super User GreenPig Posted January 31, 2020 Super User Posted January 31, 2020 I wear Costas no line bifocals. They're expensive but work great. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted January 31, 2020 Super User Posted January 31, 2020 If you got to wear glasses, polarized prescription sunglasses seem to me to be the way to go. 1 Quote
Super User Bird Posted January 31, 2020 Super User Posted January 31, 2020 I have 300 strength readers around my neck , in my tackle box, behind the boat seat, pair shove in a pocket .........wear 1X sunglasses for clarity and distance while fishing, Amazon, 3 pairs for $15. I could tear up a digging iron so gotta go cheap on glasses. Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted February 1, 2020 Super User Posted February 1, 2020 You can get polarized distance glasses as well. I keep meaning to get myself a pair every year. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Aviator size fitovers for me on the river with a sport band to keep them on. I only have one eye, so if I need to see better to tie, etc, I just drop them down. Also keeps the wind out of my eye (s). Polarized amber lenses. Quote
Super User gim Posted February 1, 2020 Super User Posted February 1, 2020 Corrective laser surgery fixes the problem permanently. Then you can wear any sunglasses you want without a prescription. Quote
tander Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Contacts, little trouble but they are worth it. Quote

Tom Great advice right here. My wife and I actually both have vision insurance so we can get both pairs without waiting a year. I get 1 pair on my insurance and one on hers. My 1st pair is my everyday glasses and my second pair is prescription no line bifocal polorized Ray Ban Wayfarers. Quote
Tizi Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 I have several pair of Nike prescription sunglasses. I like wrap-arounds. Quote
Super User Spankey Posted February 2, 2020 Super User Posted February 2, 2020 Prescription progressive polarized glasses, mine happen to currentlybe in Columbia frames. Good stuff. They work great in low light conditions. Mine are brown polarized. The didn't break the bank and I can see better than any of the fit-over types I use to use before. 1 Quote
