Still don't like them though. A-Jay I usually just catch them on accident. Our most common possum job is removing a dead one from a crawl space, fun stuff 3 Quote
Eric 26 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 I’m with A-Jay on this one. Although I’m not looking to remove anything from my yard and I don’t see them very often in my yard we had one living in our last house’s yard and as long as I didn’t screw with it it didn’t screw with me. 2 Quote
Eric 26 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 @TnRiver46 question for you, do possums sit quietly in the trap or are they as “aggressive” such as hissing and pretending they’re going to charge which was my experience with the aforementioned possum from prior post. I’m assuming as a last ditch effort it’s not willingly going quietly. Quote

I’m assuming as a last ditch effort it’s not willingly going quietly. They always open their mouth to show teeth, sometimes growl and hiss but they are ten thousand times calmer than a coon in a cage. I am usually trying to catch skunk coon and groundhog so I typically just open the door and let the possum walk away. I’ve come across them in a crawl space before and just grabbed them , wouldn’t dream of doing that to a raccoon 3 1 Quote

I can just imagine the glacier that would build up behind that overhang in my neck of the woods from Dec to March 😏. Wouldn’t last one winter here before the roof would be leaking terribly. 1 Quote

It’s a terrible idea for many reasons! One of which a raccoon can stand there and rip the soffit apart as opposed to hanging upside and doing it (which they can do but why make it easier) the same thing happens when people tuck an awning under a soffit, the coon can just relax while tearing up jack and letting themselves into a warm insulated attic haha Quote
