Perhaps a beneficial skill in your chosen occupation.

Ha! Sometimes yes sometimes no. We have to find dead animals inside the structure on occasion, unfortunately following your nose is the best way to find them

As I was planting my sweet corn this morning I was thinking of those sneaky raccoons. It’s gonna be a fight between bugs birds and raccoons over me getting a nibble of my own corn

Our raccoon numbers are way down compared to the last 10 years or so, might be a good year for corn haha

my buddy set up a trail cam in his corn a few years ago and saw raccoons, then set traps. He removed 21 or 22 of them and was still getting photos after that, he waved the white flag

Caught a skunk in a trap meant for groundhog, it made itself a pine straw cacoon in the trap. Then sprayed me. Caught a sneaky raccoon that avoided capture for 2 weeks. And of course Alvin, Simon, or Theodore the singing chipmunk E09-D0401-D126-48-E4-A036-9-BDB47-F5-F8-

I watched my neighbor trap one, toss a tarp on it and then place it into a wheelbarrow full of water.

Skunk drowned and he didn't get sprayed. I figured I'd use the same plan of attack .....

Guess there might be more to it.

Much like bass, not all skunks are the same. I can trap 100 In a row without getting sprayed sometimes

there is no cheat code,  no sudden moves is a good start tho

Any barn around me is infested with groundhogs. I've tried to catch these things for people with very little success. I guess I just don't have enough traps to cover all the holes they have. The ones I have caught I've ate, and they weren't half bad.

You are brave! The people that hired me to catch the one in the picture said they were trying to catch it for years. I caught it in 2 hours haha. Just set a cage and keep fresh apple in there, eventually they will walk in

@Basser2021, also when it comes to the holes in the ground. I ALWAYS fill them up with a shovel while checking traps everyday. Always. That serves two purposes, number one you know which hole they use more often. Number two, it makes them work and they get hungry and go for the bait haha

Helluva day! So far I’ve caught 4 groundhogs, 2 skunks, and a squirrel.

At the groundhog job, the customer said I had 2 in the same trap. Well I had a third in another trap they didn’t see. As I was resetting another trap where I caught the first two, I could see a juvenile dive under an out building. I set the trap and just backup up about 50 feet and talked to the lady, and in less than a minute the little hog came out and went in the trap

and of course the squirrel, also juvenile

Heading to my in-laws today for the weekend to do some exterminating.  Groundhogs have wreaked havoc under their deck.  Last year I took out 5.  They don't have traps so a shotgun gets the work instead.  Got 3 in one shot last year which I sure do appreciate with the price of ammo these days lol

First assignment this morning back at work. 3 skunks had fallen into a window well and I got two of them to walk into a cage trap. The third one I got to walk into a bucket on a rope 74-FAAF99-F883-46-C0-9-F35-1678-DBCC8492

How do you release those things without getting sprayed?

Im actually not allowed to relocate them but I can release them in the same place I caught them (accidental by-catch). if you do everything very slowly and carefully with no sudden moves, they will usually just waddle away. Also, sometimes I get sprayed haha

0531-D2-A9-CA1-B-465-E-9-CB2-1234068-C53A raccoon ripped a board off this lady’s chimney chase. I went up into the attic ( ? ) and saw the coon, then set a trap outside. I caught the raccoon this morning but the customer said she was still hearing noises. I went up into the attic again today and there was a smaller version of a raccoon ready to kill me. Still got work to do!

Apparently the raccoons just don’t care! They are made of kryptonite. The squirrels left attics about a month ago haha
