Any interest in trapping?

First time posting in this forum. I'm not a trapper but thought this thread would be relevant. I fish a number of HOA lakes that have a large muskrat population. I was told that the HOA in one large neighborhood took action by introducing mink (didn't know that was legal). I haven't actually seen one, though the 'rats are conspicuously absent lately. What I do notice is a proliferation of "lodges" built from rolled up aquatic vegetation, primarily over old muskrat runs and in front of storm drains. I don't miss the muskrats (they destroy the banks) but was wondering about the possible impact on bass populations in ponds of 2-4 acres.

@The Bassman, possible impacts of the mink? You’re right it’s not exactly legal for Joe homeowner to move wildlife but people like me have a permit to do it

We've got a couple of otters hanging around the neighborhood pond in the back where the creek comes into play. I have no interest in trapping. The MDWFP has been notified.

I doubt mink would have a measurable impact on fish.  While they do generally inhabit areas and habitat near water, and they can swim, they aren't prolific fish eaters like otters.  I see them frequently along the banks of a river when I'm deer hunting.  They are not much bigger than a gray squirrel, just more elongated.

I had one swim by our dock all evening Friday, I’m not worried about it but they do seem to cause trouble in small bodies of water. This water is a massive river system so they are just part of it all

Sometimes you just gotta go back to the basics. Pest control told them there was no fresh mouse evidence. Well I’m no pest control man but I can catch a mouse

I used to enjoy trapping coyote and foxes, but haven't trapped anything other than mice over the last several years.  Every year I swear I'm going to dig my traps back out, but never seem to get around to it.

This joker was eating a foot or two of grass  a night down by my boat ramp…the key word is WAS. Also got a little one too. Unfortunately for the little one, our pit bull got aholt of it through the trap somehow before I could get it out. Apparently the big one and our dog bit each other’s snouts through the cage too, because both were bleeding…

Yes. I grew up calling them swamp rats. Had never heard them called nutrias until I was in my 30s…
