@A-Jay Don’t let all the mole-a$$’s go to waste, I’ve heard it’s great on biscuits!

You’ve heard the one about the moles sniffing their way thru a tunnel?

I have a couple chipmunks here that are living around my house.  My dog knows they are here now too.  She caught one the other day and it was instantly dead.  They love to go up the downspout of my gutters.  The problem is, its a dead end once they get to the vertical portion.  She can smell and hear them in there so she'll bark, paw, and bite at the down spout until I address it.  I lift the down spout off and sling the chippy onto the grass.  The chipmunk has no chance in open ground.

Let’s have it ?

My papaw used to tell it to me all the time, I can’t exactly recall how it goes but I’ll try…….

3 moles are single file in a tunnel. The lead mole says he smells something, maybe honey. The second mole says nah it smells more like sugar. The third mole says all I can smell is MOLEasses

@A-Jaysetting mole traps

Truth be told my wife sets & snags 80 % of these noxious little critters.

And takes great pride in it I might add.

Hey @A-Jay - What’s the best placement for mole traps. I now have at least one that took out three beauty berry bushes like they were electrocuted.

Almost any tunnel can work but

I look for Fresh and straight tunnels.

The fresher and straigher the better.

And never handle traps with your bare hands, wear gloves.  Store traps outside in the weather.

Good luck

Moles eat live worms and grubs , locate with their whiskers so they shouldn’t be killing bushes . Usually their counterpart the vole is what kills roots of flowers and bushes

I came outside this morning to the side of my house and found almost an entire hosta trimmed down.  Another one further down has also been munched on.  The guilty party are a couple of rabbits.  These things are savage!  There's gonna be nothing left of my wife's hostas in a week.  I need a new form of pest control.  The dog isn't doing her job.

War has been declared.

That's interesting.

My place is surrounded by a hundred hostas - because it's the only thing the rabbits don't eat.

But Tank will most definitely eat the rabbits.

Every one.

I spotted one of the perpetrators when I was mowing the lawn and released the beast. Cosmo had NO chance. The rapid change of direction by the rabbit turned her into a twisted pretzel in a few seconds. I actually laughed at it but then soon realized my pest control is 11.5 years old now. :wiseman:

Gonna need a new plan.

This is my plan B.

And it's almost not even fair.
