UPS VT Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I keep telling myself, next year. I have been saying that for about 3 years now. Probably more like in a couple of years, but I am still holding out hope that next year will be the year. Quote
st00pid Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I'm so close its sick. If it wasnt for a family death and travel expense. Id be picking it up. Still might but, I cant afford a trolling motor for it haha since all that cash is now going for gas. Its a 07 alumacraft 1648 with a new shorland'r trailer. Quote
done Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Got sick of the shore so I picked up a Tracker 1436 this summer. It is not the best boat, but it floats, has a good motor, and I have already grabbed a mess of fish with hit. Presently adding a deck, lighting, bilge and livewell to it. JUST about done. Quote

Probably more like in a couple of years, but I am still holding out hope that next year will be the year. Dude I did that for years!! Year after year id say next year. If your financially able just do it. I just happened to be at a dealership with a friend of mine to pick up a part for his boat and there she was just sitting there calling me. All clean...... shining sparkles glimmering in the sunlight. Went there to give a friend a ride and walked out with a Triton TR-186 man was my wife PO'd. ;D Quote
harshman Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Have I got a boat.........my problem is I got 3 and not enough time to fish them all ;D Harshman Quote
billbo Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 A man or woman needs a boat. It is Bibical. I can not do without a boat. It is so relaxing after working all week to go out and do the fishing thing. Not to mention to see what God created and enjoy it all. Yahoo let's go catch one. Quote
redskinsfan360 Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Couple of my own and share a few with my dad. Build them all! Looking to buy first boat that I have nit built. Quote
Certified Public Angler Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I just bought a 12 foot gamefisher and a trolling motor for 215$ and it beats the crap out of shore fishing. I just put it in the back of the truck and drag it out onto a pvc roller. Quote
bassboy1 Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I am 15, and have two. And share two with my dad. I have 6 outboards, and dad has one complete one, and 2 parts motors. Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted August 21, 2008 Super User Posted August 21, 2008 i only have 2 boats. one bass boat and one 14' V for pond hopping. Quote
JShrock07 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 All these guys saying that they have more then one... You lucky SOBs!!! I have 1 and can barely afford to fish!!! -Nitroman Quote
IDbasser Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 I have 2 boats. A fiberglass bass boat, and a 14ft aluminum boat. been thinking about selling the aluminum one though. Quote
ThomasL Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 After my father died 15 years ago and my mother and i sold his 1 year old stratos 264v i didn't fish from a boat,i did luck into a couple of very private(owner and son only fish)ponds that had no real bass pressure,5lb bass in a hour was a daily occurance until the father passed away and the son started letting(buddies)fish it and it went to hell real quick.I tried a couple of smaller boats,1436 war eagle,1544 weldcraft then bought my xpress but since the baby has come it has not been used since last october(need to crank it at least in a barrell of water)and has been used only twice last year and is a 08 model. So the point to this story i wanted it,i paid for it,now it sits and does'nt get used like it should and fear on trying to sell it knowing a bad lose will come even with a new smelling boat still! :-[ Quote
bassboy1 Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 All these guys saying that they have more then one... You lucky SOBs!!! I have 1 and can barely afford to fish!!!-Nitroman Didn't say I can afford to fish. At this age, I really need to choose one hobby or the other (boats, or fishing - not both). I have just one bass rod because I go broke buying boat stuff. Don't even have the cash for a few bags of soft plastics in a color that I actually use (got plenty in colors I don't - I "collect" fishing tackle - that is the only way I can convince myself that I haven't wasted so much money on stuff I use) Been doing a lot of elec. only fishing, as I can't afford to put 6 gallons of gas in the boat. Of course, I found a heck of a deal on the outboard that I would really like on my main boat, and this weekend I may end up trying to sell off my other one, and use up every bit of cash that I had saved towards a tackle order to get that, although there isn't anything wrong with the motor on there now (except for the fact that it runs on liquid gold - and isn't the "ideal" motor for that boat) Quote
